Democrats cave in to Republicans again. Republicans get what they want. Democrats get empty promises.

With Democrats like this who needs Republicans

The way I see this.

The Republicans having once again proven they care little about the hurting and suffering of those in need. The Dems caring about the suffering and seeing no movement decided to try this.
The Dems are hoping that by January it will become more apparent and clear that they were right about not trusting the empty promises from the Republicans.

The Democratic Party is one with no wind in their sails and missing the rudder.
They lack leadership and one could ask who wants to lead them and no messaging either. Why cave in now? Nothing has changed, the Republicans are being blamed more for the shut down according polls and Dems are not going to gain anything. Trump will claim next week that he brought the Dems to their knees and the administration will take a victory lap.

And the hapless Schumer is more worried about losing in the primary than leading the minority party in the Senate while Trump has already signaled that he is opposed to any funding of ACA/Obamacare.

The main issue with the the Democratic Party is in having no real power.

Can be argued for many reasons as to why this came about. Mine is the majority it does seem would rather believe in a lie or stories told by the Rep's... then the hard truths the Dems have been saying..

The Democrats can use the power of swaying public opinion. The current leadership doesn't have the knowhow or the will to do that. Dementia's popularity is low and continues to sink. The American people were blaming Republicans with the shutdown. The fight over the shutdown was the Democrats to lose, and they lost it. The tRUMPLICAN party is giving the Democrats everything they need to beat them in the midterms. It remains to be seen what they do with it.

As little as possible, apparently. This pretty much snuffs out the flame that was lit last Tuesday.

Most of the people I know understand why it was done. See the Republicans for what they are and capable of.

^^I do too and see that what the Republicans are capable of which is unity.
The D-party leaders on the other hand have no principles, no commitment and no purpose, just a bunch of cowards playing their hand just to get reelected.

And there will be a replay of this in January, another shutdown and another cave-in. Or perhaps they will hand Trump what he wants, no more debt ceiling drama, just eliminate the annual food fight between the two parties for good.

There are many who were horrified, others surprised by the cold hearted cruel actions of the Republican leaders. The total lack of compassion, feeling no concern for the pain and suffering. Seeming to enjoy the pain of others.

The Democrats having no power and having compassion choose to fight another day. Hoping there will be one at least now the country has witnessed the Republican black souls.

This again is why a king or dictator fits so well with todays republican party. For they have become a party drunk with power and control. A strong hand at he throat choking any descent. Our way or nothing....
