I am not victim blaming Bob, in my opinion the Dem party is clueless, inept and gutless and I have stopped financially supporting them anymore. You may disagree and so be it.

Fact of the matter is that there is no money in the 2025-26 budget for the Obamacare that the Dems are now demanding the Republicans fund it. Its simple math and not politics, but fortunately most voters do not understand this either. Which party takes the final hit is anyone's guess but guess who wields the great big megaphone and Social Media audience?

My money is on the Dems caving for know the Repubs have no soul. Have shown over and over care not for others. Unless rich over any who suffer.
They are full of hate and anger so love deep down seeing others suffer who do not believe or support them. Truth is they really don't care about those who do unless again have money.

So, now that the Dems are showing a little backbone by using the 60 vote threshold they're 'gutless'? You seem a little hard to please, old friend.

No Bob, I am not playing hard to please though I have no use for the Dem leadership and have been saying this since HRC got nominated.

What I am saying is that this is a losing cause and if this ever goes in front of a judge (hypothetically speaking), it will get tossed out in a New York minute. They could have made great big noises after the cuts takes effect in 2026 for which they cannot ever be blamed since the budget was passed via a reconciliation process not needing any Dem votes (doubt any voted for it either). So eventually when this shutdown ends, it can only be because the Dems caved. I do not see a pathway for the Repubs to cave and Trump likes shutdowns. Trump is also relishing this because he can now permanently eliminate several Federal jobs and then can blame it on the shut down and the Dems. Usually they are just furloughed. Elon has been chomping at the bits at getting FAA to use his Starlink and (guessing) his Grok AI to handle air traffic and here is his chance on a silver platter.

I do not like to see people lose jobs due to no fault of their own and these will be permanent.

from those wild eyed far lefties over at Bloomberg...

"Judge Issues Rebuke of ‘Bullying’ Trump in Free Speech Case"
Story by Patricia Hurtado, Bob Van Voris and Miles J. Herszenhorn • 23h • 4 min read

"(Bloomberg) -- The Trump administration’s crackdown on foreign students and academics violated the First Amendment by targeting them for expressing their political views, a federal judge ruled in an unusual opinion that broadly and sharply criticized President Donald Trump.

US District Judge William G. Young in Boston said that non-citizens have the same First Amendment rights as Americans. Young, who presided over a trial in July, said the case “squarely presents the issue whether non-citizens lawfully present here in United States actually have the same free speech rights as the rest of us” Young said.

“The Court answers this Constitutional question unequivocally ‘yes, they do,’” Young said.

The suit, filed in March by a pair of education groups, argued the administration engaged in “ideological deportation” by canceling the visas of legal residents who engaged in campus activism. It was the first trial challenging the government’s authority to deport foreign students who protested the war in Gaza.

The 161-page ruling is a departure from how opinions are usually written. The judge blasted Trump’s immigration policies in a highly critical opinion, which begins with “Trump has pardons and tanks...What do you have?” scrawled across the top of the court document, above the case title, taken from an anonymous postcard sent to the judge in June."

Interesting opinion from a Reagan appointee, no?

I too have no use for the current Democratic leadership. They're letting the Repubs paint them as the bad guys. If they had any smarts they'd cave on the budget painting the Repubs as the bad guys for taking away benefits that were helping Americans. Were I them I'd say they were relenting on the administration's desire to throw more Americans out of work as people are going through tough enough times already.

The Democratic party is a very diverse one. Many voices all wanting to be heard.
Therein lies the core issue with any message or messages.

Unlike the Republican with the single voice driving them.

They need their own "quick response" team. With so much tRUMPLICAn crap flooding the zone it needs to be countered. Failure is not an option and I wish they'd start acting like it.
