Venting on our current state of "Society"!

so·ci·ety
the aggregate of people living together in a more or less ordered community:

When someone is made a hero for rushing many feet after a foul ball and snatching if appear from a woman.

Now it has been years since I went to a ballpark and granted never got the foul ball thing.

Seeing the clips so far it to me and how this guy has been made a hero....

He rushed the woman and so what he gave it to his son... what is he teaching him BTW??

One of my Brothers has season tickets and goes all over the country to games. Informed me that this is accepted practices. See's nothing wrong, said the woman was a "Karen". Now if he had took it from a littler kid ... said that would be wrong....
Also informed me that the majority is with him. I said so what wrong is wrong. Taking from a child or anyone else to me is rude, just wrong.

Are we in the jungle where might makes right?

From the limited amount that I saw the ball was on the ground and he beat her to it if we're talking about the same event. If the man did in fact take it from the lady's grasp I stand corrected.

In the end, the Phillies team made it up to the dad and son and that was a class act.

As for the dad and the irate woman, call it a draw since we do not know if he actually took the ball out of her hands as she claimed. To me it seemed like he was quicker, more agile and in better shape to get to the ball which was on the floor of the stand.

Yes this is the event from the other day.

From what I saw and even tried to freeze frames of the event. Was a ball going towords where the woman was and the father running 20 to 30 feet seeing the woman reaching and grabbing for the ball. The man rushing in reaching and the woman looking as if pushed then him running away with the ball.

My point as an outsider is has our society come to a point where being courteous towards others is dead or is it just sporting events? Where getting a foul ball is a full contact sport winner take all.

Even if he snatched it before she was able to. How is this any different the if it was a child. Because if this had been a child reaching for the ball we all would be in agreement that would be wrong correct?

I think the father behaved badly and rude. I have looked for the phone pictures of the guy the row above so far unable to find.

Foul balls are fair game, always have been. Its is a competition to field it. From what In have seen its just a Karen being a Karen.

And IMO, as someone self admitting ignorance "outsider" on this specific subject, you are over reacting.

I started "fighting" for foul balls as a kid in the early 70's.

I give you others more involved with this occurrences. That it is all to common and accepted as normal. I will never teach youngsters to be primeval and animistic boarding on violent. Baseball is not alone most other sports have similar occurrences of "competition" tribal in nature.

I'm getting ready to go to a Cross Country meet and never see anything remotely close to said actions. So some sports are not effected at this time.

The majority is with you who have replied that is true.

I really don't give a shit about a couple of people arguing over a fly ball. People like this have always existed. These just got caught on camera and went viral.

Kids are still worthy of respect, but not women. So speaketh the movement males. This movement has gotten pretty big.
