'GOP Senator Pushes False Epstein Claim Even After Jake Tapper Corrects Him in Wild CNN Interview'

"A Republican senator repeatedly pushed a false claim about the prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein — even after Jake Tapper corrected him in a wild CNN interview.

During a contentious back-and-forth on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday, Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) insisted that former President Barack Obama’s administration was responsible for striking a “sweetheart” plea deal with the disgraced financier in 2009.

“Remember, there was a plea deal that was struck in 2009, way before I was in office, way before [President Donald] Trump was even considering to be in office, way before [Attorney General] Pam Bondi was in his office, way before Kash Patel was [FBI] director — 2009, there was a sweetheart plea deal that was made underneath the Obama administration with Epstein,” Mullin said. “And that sweetheart has not been exposed.”

But as Tapper immediately pointed out, Mullin’s timeline was completely wrong.

“It was 2008,” Tapper said. “The U.S. attorney at the time was a guy named Alex Acosta. He was a Bush appointee. He went on to become President Trump’s secretary of labor. It all took place in 2008.”

Indeed, Epstein reported to prison in June 2008 — six months before Obama was inaugurated. But Mullin kept insisting that it was the Obama administration which was responsible for the light sentence.

“Who was in office at the time?” Mullin asked.

“George W. Bush,” Tapper said.

“Who was in office at the time?” Mullin repeated.

“George W. Bush,” Tapper shot back.

“No, 2009 is when the case came out,” Mullin said. “And Obama was in office at the time.”

“It’s not true,” Tapper said simply.

Sen. Mullin should take off his shoes so he can count correctly...

That right there is why I stopped watching Sunday morning "news" shows. The amount of lying and gaslighting by Republicans was/is just infuriating.

Tapper should have ended the interview, rather than platform any more gaslighting.

Republicans to Roll Out ‘America First’ Test For Teachers Arriving From Blue States

Quote:
Oklahoma’s education department has announced plans to introduce an “America First” certification test to ensure that teachers moving from liberal states align with its values.

"One of the things that we wanted to do is, first of all, make sure that they're great teachers, right? And No. 2, make sure we're not getting these woke, indoctrinating social justice warriors in the classroom," the state’s Superintendent Ryan Walters said in an interview with Fox Digital.
Quote:
Walters said that every teacher moving to work in Oklahoma must pass the test in order to begin teaching, and that Conservative think-tank PragerU will assist in the development of the test.

“We put the Bible back in our history standards," Walters said, adding that the ‘America First’ test would include questions based on American history and “common sense.”
MAGA and common sense is like oil and water and PragerU assisting with this questionnaire? That sounds like a Stephen Colbert joke. Besides, why would a great teacher move to Oklahoma to teach? In terms of standard of living, Oklahoma is just above W. VA which is the lowest in the US.

Indeed, sounds like a solution in search of a problem. How very fascist of them. Why would any of us "wokies" want to move there in the first place?

Not to give Texas or Trump any ideas. Sure they already have people working on it.

Have Feds arrest the Dems who left Texas preventing a quorum. Some my think there is no legal means for the Feds to act......

I say RIGHT.. has not stopped them so far now has it?

"Interstate flight to avoid prosecution" they would call it. There is no lawful prosecution to avoid, but that's just a detail.

'Luna says lawmakers have evidence of ‘interdimensional beings’'

"Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) said during a Wednesday podcast episode with Joe Rogan that lawmakers have seen evidence of “interdimensional beings.”

“I think that they can actually operate through the time spaces that we currently have,” Luna said during the podcast.

“And that’s not something that I came up with on my own. That’s based on stuff that we’ve seen. That’s based on information that we’ve been told,” she added.

In February, Luna and Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) sent letters to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and CIA Director John Ratcliffe requesting a briefing on all unidentified anomalous phenomena or UAP-related records in their possession, with the ultimate goal of “deliver[ing] transparency to the American people.”

She says through investigations, she’s discovered otherworldly information.

“Based on testimony that would be based on witnesses that have come forward. But what I can tell you is just we’re told that they were that, they’ve seen things,” Luna told Rogan.

“And what I can tell you without getting into classified conversations is that there have been incidences that I believe were very credible people have reported that there have been movement outside of time and space,” she continued....

The appropriately named Rep. Luna is, by definition, a lunatic.
