Colbert Muzzled

Trump says he's coming for Jimmy K. next.

To me, this should be the top story in the news right now. The silencing of dissenting voices is far more crucial to the imposition of an authoritarian regime than whether or not the president was buddies with a pedophile pervert.

I can't believe this story isn't getting more oxygen even here on PC, let alone in the media at large.

Folks this is what Fascism looks like........

JHS 101 classic example of World History and Political Science class.

From WIKI...

""Fascist movements tended to not have any fixed economic principles, other than a general desire that the economy should help build a strong nation.[6] As such, scholars argue that fascists had no economic ideology, but they did follow popular opinion, the interests of their donors and the necessities of World War II. In general, fascist governments exercised control over private property but they did not nationalize it.[7] Scholars also noted that big business developed an increasingly close partnership with the Italian Fascist and German Nazi governments after they took power. Business leaders supported the government's political and military goals. In exchange, the government pursued economic policies that maximized the profits of its business allies.""

CBS said it wasn't because of pressure or politics. That leaves it open for Colbert to go all in on TACO now.

I fully expect him to step it up from now until next May. Kimmel too -- I appreciated his "fuck you" to CBS.

I remember Bill Maher saying something to the effect that "any country that allows me to run my mouth the way I do can't be all bad." I wonder when he'll be made to reconsider.

Yeah, silly me. I looked for a dedicated thread and found none. And it seems to be gaining good traction in the media at large now, although much of the coverage is of the "Entertainment Tonight" variety.

He doesn't seem muzzled to me. Colbert was on T.V. last night, singing, dancing and spewing all kinds of truthful yet hilarious things about Trump. I'm thinking that Stephen Colbert, just as Rachell Maddow did, will just go elsewhere and start his own show.

This is not over.

I'm thinking that's already happened. Maher is sounding more like a Trump flunky every day.

CBS will soon face the same fate as Tesla with Musk joined at the hi for a while with Trump. Liberals will boycott CBS and will will the advertisers. Wonder if their potential buyer Skydance Media have already amended their offer to reflect CBS future loss in revenue?

As Stephen said last night "They made a mistake. They left me alive!".
