Unicorns aren't real, Pete. Kind of like a cohesive foreign policy from this administration.

Had Harris won, we for damn sure would not be in the mess we are in now.

We dropped 14 bunker busters. Unless someone shows me that the rank and file US military has suddenly become incompetent there was plenty of damage.

Pete

BTW, it doesn't matter how much ordinance you drop if they're not dropped in the right place. Stormy Daniels would agree.

Unless Trump demanded a raid beyond the capacity of the bunker busters to achieve just to flex his muscles and appear like a tough guy for his base.

US strikes did not destroy Iran nuclear programme, says Pentagon assessment

So, you want to revise your post, then?

You can believe the Pentagon, or a serial liar and buffoon like Donny. Up to you.

The real irony is that after dropping several of largest bombs ever made on Iran unprovoked, Trump now believes he should get the Nobel Peace Prize. This they claim is "peace through strength".

Unprovoked LOL

Chicks that's much better than guessing, though in the body it does state: "...it was an early assessment that could change as more information becomes available about the sites. It is also not clear at what confidence level the findings included in the report were made. ..."

Regardless it's unfortunate if true. Iran with nukes is indeed a scary thought. Also problematic is, perhaps our hoped-for capabilities regarding the bunker busters are too optimistic.

That's a CYA if there ever was one.

What is the supposition of what Iran would do or will do if or when it gets Nukes. Any nuclear power on this third rock from the sun would have to know that nuking another would bring swift and sure retaliation. Even if they supplied some rogue outfit with a weapon it would still be traced back to the supplier.
As far as nukes in general. The genie is already out of the bottle.
We had diplomacy at one point but that wasn't good enough for tRUMP.

Agreed, standard boilerplate and still not good news. But not a finished assessment.

Assuming foreign actors are rational is a common issue in international diplomacy. I hate to go right to Nazis but consider, not only did Hitler want war, lusted for it, but when it became clear he was losing he doubled down on gassing. The logical action would be to pause that gassing and divert those resources to the front. He wanted to kill Jews more than win the war. Would he have used nukes? On his own people as well?

This is the issue with nuclear proliferation, right, that the more people have access the more likely a crazy person (State or non-State) will be able to vaporize Tel Aviv (Or London, or DC).

I'm not even saying Trump was right BTW, just that solely filtering foreign events through domestic politics isn't always a great idea. I can see the thought here, that while we have the opportunity giving Irans enrichment program a (hoped-for) serious setback will perhaps slow or prevent another (possibly worse) NK.

For the record, I believe Trumps foreign policy overall has been a disaster for both the US and the free world.
