Putting yourself in a position where it all depends on what your enemy does is not good policy.
In a nutshell, that is the question of utmost importance followed by the second question, what is the extent of damage to their three unclear sites, Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. This will takes weeks if not months to determine.

In the interim, Netanyahu will look for every excuse to continue to bomb Iran and if Iran retaliates by attacking the US military installations within reach, Trump will be happy to send some more bombs their way.

Politically what will happen to Iran is anybody's guess and the Ayatollah regime is too well entrenched with their IRG thugs.

Initially the Iranian regime will enjoy a huge surge of support. Being attacked does that. Maybe long-term support will fade, but I can't immediately think of times that's happened to the invaded, only to the invaders when it goes on forever....

Early reports from Trump's shock and awe at Fordow where the B2's dropped the massive bunker buster bombs are not very promising nor are the Three Musketeers
trump, Vance and Hegseth are taking victory laps. Even Vance's change in objective is rather suspicious.

Quote:
Vice President JD Vance told ABC News’ “This Week” on Sunday that the administration plans to “work in the coming weeks to ensure that we do something with that fuel and that’s one of the things we’re going to have conversations with the Iranians about.”

“What we know is they no longer have the capacity to turn that stockpile of highly enriched uranium to weapons-grade uranium, and that was really the goal here,” Vance added.
“Enriching uranium up to the point of a nuclear weapon — that was what the president put a stop to last night.”
Not a very reassuring comment nor did they drop heavy bombs on Ishafahan which is where it seems Iran is replicating a re-enrichment facility. Either way, Netanyahu has managed to drag US into their war with Iran and expect more armaments shipped to Israel in short order and as usual, US will be blamed for attacking Iran, not Israel even though they started this.

Netanyahu has been saying Iran is "on the brink" of having nukes for quite some time. Ih tRUMP he's finally found a U.S. president to go along with it.

It seems Iran doesn't need nukes to strike back at Israel and is not waiting to do so. Also among other countries in the Middle-East not enamored with Israel look for "the enemy of our enemy is our friend". Pakistan for instance has nukes. Will they stay out of it or side with Iran or side with Israel and the U.S.?

Its a lot worse than I thought. Reported today that the Trump brain trust (Fox guy, Marco and JD) do not know exactly the enriched Uranium is and I find it beyond baffling. So what the hell was the intent of dropping 14 bunker busters? To help Netanyahu who is even less popular than Trump? With all the intelligence that they gathered, wouldn't they try and find out?

Looks like a reenactment of the WMD.....

Officials Concede They Don’t Know the Fate of Iran’s Uranium Stockpile

Quote:
“We are going to work in the coming weeks to ensure that we do something with that fuel and that’s one of the things that we’re going to have conversations with the Iranians about,” Vice President JD Vance told ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday, referring to a batch of uranium sufficient to make nine or 10 atomic weapons.
Like they are going to tell them.

Should have elected Kamala. We wouldn't be in all these messes if we had.

Yes, it would've been unicorns and rainbows.

We dropped 14 bunker busters. Unless someone shows me that the rank and file US military has suddenly become incompetent there was plenty of damage.

I believe Iran will launch a largely symbolic retaliatory strike (which may still be fatal) to try to save face. This happens all the time in the ME and Iran is widely believed to be very weak.

Of course I could be wrong, and Iran really wants to be more severely beaten.

I doubt any of the nuke players in the region (Pakistan) are suicidal enough to do more than posture.

The stated objective if I am not mistaken was to take out Iran's capability to make a nuclear bomb. Was this accomplished, not when Vance admitted that we do not know where their enriched Uranium stockpile is.

So what was the justification for dropping these bunker busting bombs except for a cheap shot Trump took mostly because Iran's air defenses were put out of commission by Israel. Almost like he wanted a piece of the action while nothing was accomplished. As for Iran, who knows what they are thinking.
