The far right in the US is currently in charge of the government and is rapidly working to institutionalize a fascist police surveillance state. The far left in comparison is not doing shit. So let's talk about how unjustified the far left is.

Okay, let's.
What I'm hearing from you is that the far right is much more effective at imposing a Fascist imperialist dictatorship on a hapless public than the far left is at advancing their own collectivist utopian state.
That about right?

Sort of. I'd say it a little differently, something like 'there's a big threat on the right now, and about none on the left.' But mainly I was suggesting you might ask yourself 'what made me want to respond to criticism of the right by saying the far left isn't justified, when no one had said they were?'

Extending the social safety net in the USA to a level still far short of most other First World democracies (particularly those in Scandinavia) hardly results in a collectivist utopian state. Indeed nobody in these other First World democracies would trade their social and political systems for ours.

Fair enough. I suppose my point was that extremes in either direction are less than ideal, which is kind of a hobby-horse I find myself mounting more often in these threads. The post I was responding to seemed to imply (to me) that the antidote to far right is far left, and I wanted to say that it isn't that simple; each needs elements of the other in order to implement their agenda effectively, whatever the ideology behind it may be.
Or, as Ferris Bueller put it, "Isms, in my opinion, are not good."

Indeed it isn't that simple. Everything that isn't "far right" isn't automatically "far left" no matter what certain politicians would lead us to believe.

No one living in this country can equate the Far Left to the Far Right.
Let's look at some of the highlights from the Right:
No free healthcare and cut Medicare to the bones.
Privatize Social Security.
All gun control laws shall be considered illegal.
All public schools shall teach Christianity as state religion.
Closed borders and restrict immigration to those who are whit or have $2Million in cash to invest.
As for gender identification, will leave that up to your imagination.
Remember the Three G's Obama warned us all about?

Did someone brag about hiring only the best?
We have Hegseth, Kash and Noem to name a few and joining them in May is dude named David Richardson as head FEMA, who when asked about the upcoming hurricane season answered that he did not know that there is a US hurricane season. Or this is a brilliant plot by Trump to blame Biden for the hurricanes.

With being shoved out of the room, forced to the ground and handcuffed ICE Barbie says he was not "arrested". I guess a knee in the back would have made it official?
The tRUMP regime is trying to spin the episode saying the senator "lunged" at Noem and I'm sure the MAGA will believe every word. Unfortunately for them, there is video.
