Here is a comment from a Trump supporting oil industry businessman in Texas.

Quote:
Mark Waters says sales at his Odessa, Texas, tools business, which he describes as a “Home Depot for the oilfields,” are down about 10 percent. He does not regret voting for Trump, saying he is willing to take a personal hit to support the president’s agenda.

But he said it is ironic that over the decades he has made a lot more money when the party he despises is in power.
So he is still supporting Trump policies yet admitting he makes more money when the Democrats are in power? This is how MAGA works, scew the ones who are supporting it. The MAGAts do voted against their own self interest.

OTOH, gas prices may be coming down nationally but in CA and NV (Reno) they were still around the $4+ mark and just this week spiked up to $4.70+ and this is for Regular!!!

Voting against their own self interest? Isn't that what the Dems say about all the rich folks in their party?

But like this:

"They're sacrificing their own interests for the benefit of the common good."

Ronald was, like all Republicans, a president of the rich, by the rich, for the rich. He also raised the Social Security and Medicare tax rates sharply, delcaring this would build a trust fund that would fund the programs forever. A total lie, the money, like all SS trust fund money, went straight to the treasury and was spent. He was just replacing tax on the rich with tax on the working class.

Good old Kenny Paxton of Texas...

"A U.S. appeals court on Friday ruled unanimously in favor of Media Matters for America, a progressive media watchdog organization, blocking a Texas attorney general's attempt to investigate the firm for its reporting about brand safety concerns on X.

Texas AG Ken Paxton opened an investigation into Media Matters in late November of 2023, after the organization published a report showing ads from major brands appearing next to antisemitic and white supremacist content on the social platform formerly known as Twitter.

Media Matters' report sparked a wave of advertiser pullback, which angered X owner Elon Musk. Musk then sued Media Matters, alleging the group knowingly manipulated data to push a damaging narrative about brand safety on the platform.

On the same day that Musk filed suit, Texas' Paxton kicked off a probe into Media Matters, alleging it "fraudulently manipulated data on X.com."

A district court granted Media Matters a preliminary injunction, which blocked Paxton's attempt to enforce a pre-litigation subpoena.

Now, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit affirmed an earlier decision from a district court to block Paxton's subpoena attempt, calling the effort an "arguably bad-faith investigation."

The court ruled on First Amendment grounds, determining that Media Matters' statements about X constitute protected free speech."

Under Trump, State Department questions Europe’s commitment to democracy

Some times I wonder what planet these MAGA Republicans live on.
Its in the USA that democratic norms are being obliterated.
Last I checked, elections in EU have been robust.

Quote:
The dramatic shift has puzzled European officials, who note that the Trump administration itself has been accused of breaching democratic norms.

The Trumpistas claim the people that count, the 'real Americans' or 'real Germans,' etc, want the far right in charge. Therefore if the far right isn't in charge, the country can't be democratic. So there's logic to it. Stupid logic, but anyway....

My personal experience with pretty much 100% of the ones I know or meet. Being, one of totally and whole heartily believing to be correct in their view of the world. No room for any questioning of their actions. Get on board or get out...

... which is a trait they share with the far left. One extreme does not justify another.
