I found out recently that the conservative party Down Under is called Liberal Party. Strange. Identity crisis?

Here in MAGA Land, "Liberal" is a nasty word.

Yes, just like in Canada, quite a turnaround from a predicted tight election. Albanese wins by a landslide and Dutton loses his own seat he had held for 24 years, similar to Pierre Poilievre who lost his own seat he had held for 20 years.

Toxicity from #47 is indeed spreading. Orban should be getting worried, Hungary's economy is getting Trumped from Trump's tariffs.

Yes It's confusing, the LNP (Liberal National Party) which formed when the Liberal and National parties joined to form a coalition. I have no Idea why they were called the Liberal Party to begin with, they have never been liberal as far as I can recall.

Yup, great result in Canada too.

Well, we had "Progessive Conservatives" for a long time. Talk about a contradiction in terms.

We Aussies liken Dutton to Voldemort from Harry Potter.

We also had Trumpets of Patriots who I have never heard of before now, chaired by Clive Palmer who I have know about, what a nutcase lot they are.

I'm so looking forward to the midterms over there, Dems have got to retake the house and senate.

The Trump economy is charting a new course (while wiping out the current one), no more trade deals because Trump says we don't need them. And when Trump talks, we are all certain that he knows what he is talking about, don't we?

The so called Trump agenda is beginning to look like Daytona 500, cars going around in circles and a lot of them running into walls crashing and burning.

Inside story is that no deals because no country is anxious to make any deals yet because they do not trust Trump to keep his word. But they are not saying this out loud and so the MAGA goal of "90 deals in 90 days" is out, "we don't need any deals" is the new posture.

[B]‘We Don’t Have to Sign Deals’: Trump Backs Off Big Promises About Tariffs/B]

[QUOTE]“Everyone says ‘When, when, when are you going to sign deals?’” Mr. Trump said, at one point motioning toward Howard Lutnick, the commerce secretary. “We don’t have to sign deals. We could sign 25 deals right now, Howard, if we wanted to. We don’t have to sign deals. They have to sign deals with us. They want our market. We don’t want a piece of their market. We don’t care about their market.”/QUOTE]

Art of the Deal guy working his magic, eh?

House is possible, Senate will be difficult. But I would not put any money on it yet though. The Dem party is clueless, comatose and leaderless. The two "elected leaders" Schumer (an idiot) and Jeffries (a rookie) are in hiding content at holding on to their seats.

Unless they get their act together, local politics will prevail with a lot of campaign money wasted on the wrong candidates.

US farm economy is starting to see first hits from Trump tariffs
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/us-fa...151751718.html

We just drove through the Big Valley yesterday. Trump signs, that were very much in sight just a few months back, were absent this trip. Still plenty of whinging about "save the water" protesting something or other about Newsom - never a mention, of course, about how Dem governor Pat Brown built the irrigation canals that turned this great desert into farmland. Always blame the Dems, lol. F'ing MAGAmorons - dumber than rocks.
