France Shows the US How It´s Done

The right populist French Politician Marine Le Penn was convicted today of embezzlement of EU funds.

She got a 5 year sentence; the first 2 years she has to wear an ankle tracker, and the other 3 years are probation. Plus, and here´s the big deal: she can´t hold any political office for the next 5 years!

If only someone, anyone, in the US had had the balls to do this to Drump!

But finding him guilty and actually punishing him, like banning him from public office, are two different things, right?

That´s what I mean. The Justice System in France actually punished a very popular politician.

But ... but ... he's got that "convicted felon" label. Don't you think he's like, totally ashamed?

Of course, Le Pen is crying that the Justice Department has convicted her for political reasons.

How about just accepting the fact that you broke the law, got caught, and were punished for your crime?

Probably was, but that is just politics capitalizing on a political advantage. She perpetrated the crime by paying her party's staff members by misappropriating EU money.
