The economy ran up into a wall. That is the reason Trump won. People making what they regarded as reasonable money and could not afford rent, mortgage, car, education, day care, etc. The stimulus check papered it over but that ran out; so they went to credit cards, but that was maxed out and eventually ended up in phantom loans...that is Buy Now, Pay Later.

Trump has taken stock and realized that the US is running a trade deficit with almost everyone. That cannot continue. So he is now telling everyone that the US has no friends.

Finally I have found the road map for the Magical Trump Economy. This is just a synopsis leaving us to make our own conclusions, but at least we know how the various factions are pulling.

President Donald Trump acknowledges that his economic plan is causing short-term pain while the nation advances to a new “Golden Age.” But administration officials have been much less clear about what that destination will look like — and how long it will take to get there.

The president talks about reindustrializing the Midwest while his treasury secretary emphasizes weaning Americans from an unhealthy reliance on government spending. Trump’s commerce secretary is keen to balance the federal budget. His top White House economic adviser touts the virtues of tax cuts and “massive deregulation.”

Re-industrializing the Midwest is just a pipe dream considering the US labor cost unless all jobs can be mandated to be minimum wage.

Our unhealthy reliance on government spending to me reads like get rid of Medicaid and Medicare which are already in the DOGE plan.

Yet another balanced budget amendment in the works but this is usually after a huge deficit spending (to justify the deficit spending).

And finally Tax cuts and massive deregulation and we all know how well that will work. We will become yet another shit-hole country.

But at least I now know where the Trump economy is going for now which is nowhere.

I think they hope for lower-than-minimum wage. The idea is folks will be happy to get it after literally starving for a while. The economy isn't going nowhere, it's going to hell. All the way.
