New "Calexit" bid for California secession approved for signature gathering in effort to put measure on ballot

A new bid to place a measure on the ballot that would ask California voters to approve the state's secession from the U.S. has been cleared for signature gathering.

Secretary of State Shirley Weber announced Thursday that a measure introduced by Marcus Evans of Fresno must receive more than 500,000 signatures by late July.

According to the text of the measure, the state would be required to create a 20-member state commission to study California's viability as an independent country in 2027 and to publish a report the following year.

Estimated cost for this ballot measure is around $12 Million and people are already bitching about the cost. Considering the Billions of dollars spent in the last general election, this should be more like an accounting adjustment. Trump is withholding FEMA money from Los Angeles and this sounds like a reasonable response since CA represents around 20% of the nations economy.

I did see where she claimed it was Biden's fault "millions" of chickens had to be killed which led to the egg shortage which resulted in the high egg prices. No mention of bird flu however.

Most everything here comes from China or Mexico, so Trump can shove his tariffs up his ass. Heck even the new Bay bridge sections were built in China and Mexico is just south of the border. San Jose, CA is 27% white, 32% Hispanic and 34% Asian.

One stain on California is the presence of Tesla and I am certain that the city of Fremont would love to kick them out.

Most of the power is from renewables. Oil can come from Canada. Imagine the windfall from not paying taxes to support the red states while no issues with abortion and real separation between church and state. Its a win, win, win.

All the things he (lied) said Biden did to wreck the country for four years? All I've seen him on his RAD (rage on destruction) tour.
