I am surprised that the media is not calling Trump's cabinet the Trump Mafia and him The Don (not Donald unless he waddles). Then our future political picture will be complete.

I think its a bit of both: Get it to go away, and buy favor aka an insurance policy against retribution. But in reality its extortion.
Trump hates Jimmy Kimmel but so far nothing that Kimmel has said could be used against ABC. Plus, with the new FCC henchman, they will probably tell Kimmel to shut up or they'll pull ABC's license. If it gets to that point I say do it, then Disney should close Disney World and leave Florida in a world of hurt.

"NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—On Monday a spokesman for ABC News apologized for what he called “an unfortunate incident of freedom of the press.”

“Earlier this year, an employee exercised a right that is enshrined in the First Amendment of the Constitution,” the spokesman said. “We have spoken to him, and he won’t do it again.”

Doubling down on ABC’s apology, the spokesman said, “Our employee deeply regrets speaking ill of someone who calls other people ‘vermin.’”

ABC executives reportedly flew to Mar-a-Lago to grovel, but had to wait in line behind Joe and Mika." from The Borowitz Report

Lara Trump withdraws name from consideration for US Senate

Face saving at best since DeeSaantis was not too keen on nominating her even after a strong push by Trump. Perhaps he was never going to nominate her or has now been emboldened by the inept duo or Trump and Musk failing miserably this week forcing a shut down of the government.

Quote:
She stepped down this month as co-chairwoman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), fuelling speculation that she might replace outgoing Senator Marco Rubio, a Florida Republican, whom Trump has nominated for secretary of state.

But in a post on X, she said she had removed herself from consideration "after an incredible amount of thought, contemplation, and encouragement from so many".

Let's look at the bright side, once Trusk work their magic, the economy will tank and we could not afford to buy Greenland. As for the Panama canal, they will lock us out causing revolts at Walmart.

I used to live in Montreal and all I can say is good luck.
The Quebecois can and will make MAGAts seem sane if given the chance and Montreal is by far the best city I lived in.

I love Montreal. It really has the vibe of a foreign (French) city, unlike cities in Anglophone Canada. As pretty as it is, Quebec City is a bit too Disneyfied for my tastes though.

Title President Musk bestowed on Elon Musk is irritating our favorite President () Trusk.

Quote:
“No, he’s not gonna be president, that I can tell you,” Trump said. “And I’m safe, you know why? He can’t be, he wasn’t born in this country.”
He still does not get it and mostly because he lacks a sense of humor. And here is the punch line from this article.

Quote:
But Trump carefully elided the actual criticism of Musk’s growing political influence. People aren’t worried that Musk is plotting to steal the presidency—they’re worried he already has.
Rest assured, he will always be "our favorite president" to some.
