My money is on Musk. Trump can be easily bought and Musk has gobs of it not to mention his biggest MAGA asset, Twitter-X which I understand has become a MAGA haven. Reach of Trump Social is minuscule in comparison.

Trump cannot shut Elon up nor drown him out.

Putin, Nov. 28, 2024

Quote:
“You know, I believe—and I think you’d agree—that what stands out most isn’t just the use of uncivilized tactics against Trump, including multiple assassination attempts. In my opinion, he’s still not entirely safe. Unfortunately, there have been all sorts of different incidents in the history of the United States. But I think he’s a smart person, and I hope he’s cautious and fully aware of the risks.”
If Trump heeds this warning, he will continue to live in MAL, lease out MAL to the US government and have his entire cabinet encamp there. Perhaps revive Trump Airline to transport various members of Congress. How is that for a business enterprise, the entire government of the US outsourced to Trump Inc.

Irony here is that Putin calling murdering political opponents uncivilized as if it ever mattered to him.

It's all a part of the strongman fantasy. Follower-types think the strongman will save them and fix the world for them. Never happens.

Tim Snyder had a major explainer on the strongman fantasy out before the election. But of course the people he was talking about never saw it.

While both are nutty as a fruitcake Trump contains more nuts, Musk likely has the upper had in this relationship as Trump is more malleable.

PALM BEACH (The Borowitz Report)—Donald J. Trump raised eyebrows in diplomatic circles on Saturday by naming the former drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman U.S. ambassador to Mexico.

Trump told reporters that the appointment of El Chapo was consistent with his policy of surrounding himself with “only the best people.”

When asked about El Chapo’s ten felony convictions, Trump said, “I wish he had more, but I still think he’s qualified.”

Trump’s plan hit a snag, however, when El Chapo turned down the post, stating that it would be “embarrassing to serve in the same administration as Dr. Oz.”
