Coffee Prices Surge to Highest Since 1997 on Supply Fears
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/consu...143030224.html

How will Team Trump spin this, I wonder? Can't get much closer to home for his MAGAMorons than the price of their morning cuppa Joe.

You mean how will they blame Biden/Harris for this, and the MAGA will believe it.

President-elect Donald Trump said on Monday he will issue executive orders imposing new tariffs on all imported goods from China, Mexico and Canada, the nation’s three largest trading partners, as one of his first acts on Inauguration Day.

Trump said the tariffs of 25 percent on Mexican and Canadian goods, and 10 percent on Chinese merchandise would be aimed at halting an “invasion” of drugs and migrants into the United States.
Problem with 25% tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods is that it violates an agreement his previous administration enacted. OTOH, seems like he has wimped on China. After threatening a 60% tariff, its now just 10%.

Something fishy going on with the China deal, ByteDance (TikTok) to buy Truth Social for say $20B???

Here is the official gibberish:

Quote:
“This Tariff will remain in effect until such time as Drugs, in particular Fentanyl, and all Illegal Aliens stop this Invasion of our Country! Both Mexico and Canada have the absolute right and power to easily solve this long simmering problem. We hereby demand that they use this power, and until such time that they do, it is time for them to pay a very big price!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, his social media site.

A fertile ground for blackmail is what these "proposed" tariffs are. A simple shakedown with his shyte fer brains kids' sticky fingers in every pie.

Once American mfgs get a look at the price increases in overseas goods, they'll jack up their prices to stay 'competitive', as it were. While the consumers here take it in the shorts.... A lovely racket, eh?

What do I know, I'm just an old broken down pailpounder?

His Mexican tariffs will pay for The Wall.

Lying sack of shit still pushing the line that the foreign countries 'pay a stiff price' as if the tax falls on them.

Yet another brilliant suggestion by Musk who is now calling himself the Right Wing Soros.

Delete Consumer Finance Protection Agency.

Instead of gas stations, we will be inundated at every corner by PayDay lenders.

And speaking of lending money, Bernie Sanders has suggested capping credit rates from 20% to 10% and of course, the bankers do not like it. The reason is they claim that this will make credit harder for people, same people who cannot afford to borrow, so should not be borrowing. But of course, the bankers get their money because we all collectively wind up paying for it.

Elon Musk wants to ‘delete’ federal financial watchdog as ‘DOGE’ begins work
