China's ever expanding trade routes.

China's ever-expanding trade routes.

This week Xi will open Chancay, a large port in Peru that will greatly improve China's trade connections in Latin America.

China once bought US debt with a good chunk of the US dollars it earned from trade. But then it started to invest in infrastructure all over the world to facilitate its own trade.

Well, I know that Murdoch owns them now, but I still wouldn't have thought it of Barron's.

I guess they got tired of building "ghost cities" and "tofu" skyscrapers that they end up tearing down.

What the Barron's article left out is the impact on Brazil, especifically North Eastern Brazil.

Brazil which has a huge trade with China will have a greater incentive to expand agriculture in that area because of cheaper transportation via Peru.

I wasn't referring to the news article, just the member posting it

Are you saying Murdoch owns Barron?
Well then I would be skeptical of it being a reliable source under Murdoch.

Owned by Dow Jones, which is owned by NewsCorp and also publishes WSJ.

Still considered to be a credible source.

Except that the BRICS are not allies in kinetic warfare. It is more derisking from IMF, WORLD BANK and SWIFT.
