I was thinking the same, the contrasts could not be more stark on every level.

Trump won because he represents what most of the country is. They feel comfortable with those of their own ....

Not say you are complaining, but I see a lot of Americans do, and It's not a USA issue it's everywhere, and complaining or blaming the wrong entity is a waste of time, and sometimes self defeating like as you point out by blaming the current government..

3-Ply toilet paper ????
I've never even heard of such luxury. No wonder you don't complain.

Wrong. Money also a factor, so it's not just gender and race. But they are all concerns that tend to cut across all age and demographic groups, and so can exert influence widely enough to explain the widespread shifts in preference.

Gas is expensive, of course, but it´s tolerable at about €1,80/l.
I pay about €9 for case of beer , 20 half liter bottles.
Over all, life is good in Germany

4-ply toilet paper ??? WTF ?
Somebody pampering the rest of the "Free World".
I get the Walmart issued stuff. 2-plys is the top of the line.

I am not denying money as a factor. I am encouraging the poster to add to his or her candidate attributes beyond gender and color.
Anyhow my personal opinion is the widespread shifts are basically related to economics...especially supermarket, car and housing. I think the exit polls are sympathetic to this view.
I had posited on this site that economics and the electoral college favored Trump.

Was reading post-election voter interviews in The Guardian and the vast majority were smugly enthusiastic about their choice for president, because "He puts America first" and "He's such a smart businessman" and "America will be respected in the world again" and I thought, wow -- the triumph of the low information voter.

Really a head scratchier!
Like I stated before, they feel he is them...
They may be right in that they are him.
Now living in a self imposed alt reality world that at any moment will disappear. Giving way to reality forced onto them and unable to handle.
