For about two weeks I am sure that DT will be victorious. I can't explain it, but it is how it is. And I am not sure if the American democracy will survive another four years of DT tyranny.

I hope you're wrong, old friend. I may need to rent a room from you for those four years if Der Trumpenfuhrer is 'elected'.

I'm still cautiously optimistic.

Maybe this question has been discussed somewhere else, but:

There are zillions of so called Swifties in the United States. Young people, and - as I falsely assumed - not only girls. If only a couple of thousand would follow their superstar regarding this election, everything would be okay. Why is this not so?

Traditional polling companies are missing these youngsters is my guess?

There should actually be a poll considering this immense important group (and therefore their political and social future).

The L.A. Times can go feck themselves. Patrick Soon-Shiong, the billionaire owner is a dishonest POC. Glad I canceled my sub to my hometown paper last year.

Call me naive, Bob, but it could be so easy:

Taylor "forces" insistently their devoted fans on social media to vote for Kamala. Do young people ignore that the system of democracy per se is in serious danger? Don't they understand that Putin is a threat to any democracy, also the one in the United States?

There must be enough educated young people in my beloved America to get this, don't tell me please that this is not the case.

I do think it is time to accept that a culture war is happening, and to fight it as a culture war. Gloves off. Mobilize the non-MAGA by calling out the threat, not to the economy, or to national-myth stuff like freedom and the Constitution, but to our values and culture power. The war boils down to 'who's America is it--our or theirs!' Say it in those terms. Stop decrying divisiveness and USE it. Shaming the other side won't work in a million years. We need to awaken proper fear in OUR side.
