PS - I am not butthurt...I enjoy making comments infused with an occasional note of levity. Perhaps you should look into a sense of humor booster.

What then explains the angry, profane and often unhinged nature of your posts? An elevated sense of humor? Uh, OK.

Yep...pissed off, profane, and funny. Like Lenny Bruce. Carlin was angry, profane and offensive as well. Not your cup of tea, finn? Well, there's always the ignore button.

Complaints about anger, profanity, and offensiveness typically come from those who can't compete. It's interesting how rarely there's an argument provided when I make one of my angry, profane, and offensive comments, outside of sniveling about my anger, my profanity, and my offensiveness.

finn's virgin ears are bleeding...

I very much like Lenny Bruce and George Carlin, but you, sir, are neither (by a long shot). I can compete in a match of wits with pretty much anybody, including those who use profanity, anger or humor. You use both profanity and anger, but fail to employ humor.

I spent a 38 year career that involved routine high stakes negotiations with all types of folks who used every tactic under the sun. What was true then is still true now. Those who resort to anger, profanity and other boorish theatrics when discussing serious matters do so when they don't have the facts on their side. This applies in spades to you. Rather than whining like a butt hurt old codger every time one your unfounded assertions is challenged, you should be grateful that someone is willing to share a few facts with you that you don't already know. You're never too old to learn something new (though your behavior challenges this adage).

Why do we have 22 times the number of gun homicides per capita as in the EU? Because handguns and assault weapons or "war weapons" are virtually impossible to get in the EU. Most republican politicians have refused to support handgun restrictions on the legally blind for christ's sake.

From what I've read, this guy had a domestic violence history. For sure anybody who has a recorded history of domestic violence problems, and anybody who has ever had a court order of protection placed on them, should not be able get their hands on any gun of any kind.
The only rational response to the abuse of the second amendment is to repeal it as an absolute unconditional birthright, and make the custododianship of firearms a conditional privilege with strict enforcement of standards of qualification.
I can't imagine a scenario when this could actually happen, instead, a reversion to the old standard under a fright wing authoritarian dictatorship that ensures only the "right" folks have unrestricted unlimited access to any and all types in any quantity to support their dominance.

Reverence for the right to bear whatever arms has gone beyond the 2nd ammendment.

The ammendment is now superfluous.

I saw/heard (?) this from a comedian recently. To the people who say they need a gun(s) to defend against the government should the need arise, I'd like to explain how a tank works.

AH-64 or an A10 Warthog would be my preferred weapon of choice since pocket nukes aren't available.

MAGA control of the House is at risk every two years. The Second Amendment is at risk only when 3/4 of the state legislatures will vote to repeal or replace it.

Or one Douglas AC-47 Spooky.

The point is these peckerwoods cosplaying out in the woods think the gubmint is going to come gunning for them with boots on the ground. The same with the frightened 'Murrikans living out where they thinks it's "safe". If this government they so despise really wants to get them it will. Any boots on the ground would merely be for cleanup.
