You're missing the point completely. (Probably you didn't bother reading anything on the website.) The point is this, the website provides a platform (similar to this discussion board) for voters to caucus with other voters in their own state to write-in the name of a candidate with a significant number of votes. When a few thousand people write in Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, or the names of close friends, then the ballots are wasted. If they all decide to write in the name of a recognized leader, then ...

Yeah, that'll work.

If a significant number of voters elect a candidate by writing in the name, how exactly are they "wasted"?

Because at this time it will never happen. A third party candidate just won't marshal up enough support to win the office. IMO none of the current crop of Repubs should be allowed anywhere near the WH and any vote not for Biden is a vote for tRump, or whomever the Repub candidate turns out to be.

Hah. I say they are worse than wasted. The main people attracted to this possibility are Republicans and independents who are not now willing to support Trump, but who don't like Biden either. Some of these voters would decide defeating Trump was important enough that they needed to vote for Biden. Every one of such persons who vote for a third party or a write-in is one less vote for Biden, and that HELPS TRUMP WIN. Which is worse than wasting a vote.

Why are you equating a write-in candidate with a third-party candidate?

That's an easy one: me. So far I've spent about $200 on the website. I see no additional expenses on the horizon, nor do I see any revenue, since membership is free.
