It's as if they don't understand that Biden beat their guy in the 2020 with a historical voter turnout.

Without a recession to exploit, the GOP has lost economic coherence.

I think Jen Rubin has been reading Whells posts on this thread.

Republicans who fought Biden’s agenda now claim credit for it.

Their shamelessness is only exceeded by their dishonesty.

^^There is a column in today's WaPo by Henry Olsen claims that the Republicans saved our democracy in 2020. Caution: This drivel is puke worthy.

TY! It is not the drivel I was led to expect.

The writer means Republicans like Mike Pence and Brad Raffensperger and "legislative leaders in Arizona and Michigan, who refused to try to overturn the result." Also cited is the fact that "Not one Trump-appointed district judge allowed his baseless lawsuits to proceed." And he points out that "Attorney General William P. Barr and virtually every other top Justice Department appointee did not bend when Trump told them to declare the election was corrupt. White House counsel Pat Cipollone was a model of probity, consistently supporting the rule of law over Trump’s whims."

Unfortunately, given the bad actions of Trump and the vast majority of legislative Republicans, one does not immediately think of Republicans as on the right side in these episodes. Which is why the last sentence of this column is particularly jarring. I actually hope that someday we can get back to a situation where one does not hear 'Republican' and assume 'fascist enemy of democracy.'

That's from that galaxy far far away that Donqui mentioned. I surprised whell hasn't picked up on this. Oh right, that's from the WaPo which whell considers no better than the rags in the supermarket check out line.
