‘I’m not wanted’: Florida universities hit by brain drain as academics flee
https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/...aving-desantis

Fascists shut down the teaching of anything not in the interest of fascism.

Only 4 out of 44 former Trump cabinet members have endorsed him - Meadows, Ric Grenell, Matthew Whitaker, and Russ Vought.

So, while less than 10% of former Trump cabinet members thinks he's qualified to serve as President again, the majority of his base can't get enough of his chaotic form of protofascism.

After reading the link from Chick's Post #371, what is going on in Florida's universities is criminal. We moved to Palm Beach County, Florida in the late 70's when I got recruited for an entry level management position, though by local standards, I was paid extremely well. Reason for the pay I found out that back then people with young kids will not move to Florida due to their lousy schools. Also the company I worked for did not recognize engineering degrees from any state school in Florida, so they could only be hired on as technicians. Subsequently Florida really did a great job of elevating their education levels and thanks to DeSantis, looks like it will revert to the 80's. We left the state before our child was to begin 1st grade. A colleague of mine who moved to Raleigh-Durham used to say that the state had very low energy.

Illuminating by speaking in questions? Isn't that a favorite persuasion technique of propagandists? Doesn't the ask get past people's defenses, as they are conditioned to at least start to think about an answer? Isn't it conducive to suggesting fault with deniable innuendo?

You must be expecting that little soi·rée where Dotard tried to overthrow his own government (the cherry on the top) to stay in power to be wiped from the books.

Historians will also look at that in detail, hopefully, declassification is not too far off.

Folks, if one does not see by now what is happening. Rather still wants to argue the reality of our predicament. Argue the finer points in detail and what about....

Little can be accomplished by trying to point out the very apparent and relevant current events.

History will be filled criticism of with how we failed and allowed, world wide ...the advances of authoritarian governments.

I still believe it will have the climate crisis in the subconscious effecting our actions.
