Raising of the debt ceiling is an annual ritual and remains so.
But every once in a while, the idiotic reactionary wing of the GOP rears it ugly head and sabotages the economy. Question is why and its rhetorical. Idiots will be idiots and they don't have the balls to control spending at the budget or appropriations level. These idiots vote against spending and then take credit when it is approved over their own objections.
