The point is to greatly reduce one type of murder that compared to other types of murder, has a disproportionate impact on children, and that has a realistic chance of success through regulation of a particular class of weapon.

So how many deaths are the result if fentanyl abuse as opposed to alcohol abuse. I know...who fuckin' gives a shit. There's no good goddamn reason for the civilian population of this country to have access to war weapons. Amendment Two is a bad fucking reason.

Doubtful given the number of assault weapons already in the possession of citizens. In addition, there will still be plenty of legal firearms available for a mentally unstable person to buy. Not to mention the assault weapons already sold that will be available at gun shows unless Congress can pass a nationwide resale ban. Or on the black market that is bound to spring up.

The legislation would ban the sale of assault weapons.

Current owners could keep their assault weapons but would not be able to sell them to a private party. I think it would make sense to have a Federal buy back program.

What the fuck is a "senseless murder"? There are thoughtful murders? No there are not. Murder is a legal term, for the illegal act of taking another's life. If somebody is attacked and in legitimate defense of themselves, minus the use of excessive force, the attacker ends up dead...IT'S NOT A FUCKING MURDER.
