That Ruger is not an infantry weapon. Pretty poor analogy.

I stand corrected. Walmart did indeed stop selling AR15s a few years ago, but there are ~52,000 FFLs willing to sell you the AR15 of your (wet)dreams. Dunno about the quality of guns Walmart now sells, but they did indeed sell quality firearms. That is where I bought a very nice Remington 700 BDL in .270 Winchester a while back. They also sold the Henry lever action you spoke so fondly of.

Again, I never said it was. I was responding to a previous post with a picture of a tricked out 10/22 that tried to muddy the water about what is or is not an assault rifle. Try to keep up, oh petulant one.

Ancient history. The jamming thing was fixed over 50 years ago by chrome-plating the chamber and changing the propellant.

Yes it was. It was corrected fairly quickly.
And my point about Walmart is, to have an honest conversation about this, they have not offered any semiautomatic or high capacity magazines since 2015.
My point with the 10/22 is that it would be considered an "assault weapon" just because of the pistol grip stock and mag. The mag can be used in a stock 10/22 without any mods. My pistol grip hunting pump shotgun would also be considered one.
"Assault" is a shiny object term. Every assault weapons ban discusses things like pistol grips, folding stocks etc. High capacity mags are part of the issue not how a gun looks.

No one is arguing for what you want to point to and laugh at.

I'm sincerely hoping this group here, at least a majority will agree something need to be done. Right now doing nothing or arguing over the terminology and the who, what, where why, how is only preventing any positive results.
It is apparent or should be it is guns, all gun that can fire rapidly, capable of firing many rounds down range. Rifle pistols shotguns all calibers if they fit into group need to be severely regulated or removed if need be.
Have stated in the past my feelings for the need for a complete comprehensive background check permitting licensing registration training even fee's and insurance requirements.
At times some may in posting get a fact here or there wrong out of hast in posting. Unaware of the full story a strong possibility in these times of needing to work at the truth. Forgetting at times or who knows.
I for one will admit learning new or seeing a different side to a issue by precipitating here. Always trying to be civil and nice to those only known through posts.
Hope we can all if not be friends can at least be friendly. The world is too full of anger and hate. It is always nice to have a place that is not.

The M16A1 corrected this problem in '69 and the bolt-assist button was the primary modification made to resolve the jamming issue.

Come on...really?
Arguing these things is the strategy of the "my Constitutional rights and freedoms" assboles all over this country, which includes a significant enough number of alleged lefty gunners, who don’t want any positive results.
We already know what works. It already works all over western Europe. Anything less is not going to prevent the gun carbage currently being wreaked on
this country. If all Adam Lanza had at his disposal was a breach loading side by side shotgun, he would have been stomped into a coma by the six adults he killed before he could have gotten off a third shot.

Yes, the time to take action came long ago. By arguing endlessly only is delaying action. The majority wants action. Knows the issues and actions. One party is stopping any move to action.
