Donald is a criminal and should be in jail. For 40 years he weaponized the legal system in this country...screwing hundreds if not thousands of subcontractors, architects, suppliers, and partners out of thousands of dollars, by simply refusing to pay their bill and telling them if they didn't like it they could sue him. Many of those shuttered their businesses and/or were bankrupted. He should have been in jail a long time ago.
One of the most important things I learned in the counseling business comes from John Briere Ph.D. · Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences · Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. In his trauma workshops Briere always presents this..."The client's problem (symptom) is not the problem, it's their solution for the problem in their internal system."
Donald is a symptom, not the problem. DonQ put it so much more eloquently than I can, but this is what it is for me. The problem for me is that when I walk down the street I know that 6 out of the 10 people who pass buy, voted for Donald for President...twice. I don't know how to break this to you Chief, but 6 out of 10 white Americans are not going away...they remain regardless of what happens politically. The problem is the American system.
And along with that, I am ashamed of my race since I first saw the 2016 election racial demographic.
That image you posted is some sick shit that supports my contention. Just ask the families and friends of Uvalde, and Sandy Hook, and Parkland Florida, etc., if they think this grinning fucking idiot with her war weapon is cute.

The people who want a ban on assault weapons have to go from the ground up, play the long game. Remove the NRA's representatives from office and neuter the Federalists in the SC to start. Trying to get it done from the top down is pointless. As long as Republicans are the best investments the NRA ever made their representatives in office are more concerned with staying in office than legislating for the people that elect them we're running un circles.

Much like full auto weapons were once legal until 1934. I feel so to will certain aspects of the semi auto weapons. Magazine capacity, size of weapon, rate of fire maybe even the caliber.
Making them have need to be registered insured and licensed.

I should of qualified my comment a little more, sorry about that. My post was my personnel experience with the group you lump all together with the people your afraid of, they are not all the same, just as all "blue" people are not so************************t overly sensitive assholes. The people I am around everyday all day are for the most part republican's, I am a retired military, have been a defense contractor for the last 17 yrs at the worlds largest Naval Base. The bulk of the local economy is defense related, you are not going to find a group of people more "red" than I work around everyday. The vast majority of these people do not fit your box you are putting them in. Most are just like I am, middle of the road moderates, I lean left on most issues and they lean a little to the right. There are a few, very few, vocal Trumpers around but even their fellow "evil repubs" shout them down when they start talking their stupid shit. This majority, in "my world" are not even close to being what you and others on here label them as.
Back to the root cause, both teams culture war propaganda has been working great at dividing us into teams.
I am sitting here thinking of people I deal with everyday and know fairly well, maybe 1 in 10 is what you describe as a republican, I will even boost your point a little and give you 1 in 5. The other 4 are so afraid of the other team that they just vote party line. For most its an ignorance issue because they have become so disenchanted with politics that they really don't pay much attention anymore, that is a huge problem for both teams. This is why I engage without the insults and name calling, but hey that's just me.
In my world the 6 out of 10 that voted for that idiot are not the evil people you make them out to be. Maybe 2 of 10.
As I have mentioned in other threads, I lurked here for almost 2 yrs before engaging, I see some on the left here being just as unhinged as the people they are bitchin about. Both are the loud minority.
My personal experience just does not jive with the lefts narrative, just like it does not jive with the rights narrative, yours may, I do not know, just giving another POV in a discussion.
And the picture I posted was an ad for their weekly give away, fairly direct marketing to their social media followers. Its completely legal and the woman in the pic is actually a great person that I happen to know. But hey why wouldn't you attack her from just a picture, I expected nothing less from some on here and its to my point.
I have signed up for the weekly give away a few times, O/U shotguns and a few different revolvers.
No minds will be changed and this is just a back and forth of zero value at this point.
Cheers

Agreed. As a gun owner, when you couldn't buy magazines with more than a 10 rd capacity I didn't feel like my rights were being infringed upon. I like shooting my scary rifle, 99% of the time it has its 5 rd mag in it.

Look...I am not interested in befriending, engaging, interacting, or even acknowledging anybody who votes for any office seeker from the party that won't keep it's nose out of my wife's reproductive organs, the party that won't mind its own business regarding the family structure of others, the party tha continually works to violate medical and mental health confidentiality laws, the party that celebrates this country's democratized gun carnage, and the party that will do everything they can to deprive certain American citizens who they see as subhuman, of their right to vote. That's it. That's who you vote for? Fine. Then just get your fascist ass the fuck out of my personal space. I don't give a flying fuck about any white supremacist christian nationalist's disenfranchisement. They've had the run of things and disgraced themselves by sitting back, taking advantage of others, drunk on their racial entitlement for over two hundred years. So they can step the fuck aside, its a plural culture now and becoming more so every day...its not their country anymore
I am not retired military, but I did my six years in The Corps...so I fear nobody.

What it takes is a Democrat majority in the House of Representatives, 51 Democrat Senators willing to change the Senate rule on the filibuster and the President to sign the bill.
What is f'd to me is that Obama had a House Democrat majority, 60 Democrat Senators and squandered it because he wanted to be friends with Repubs.

I'm not sure he wanted to be friends exactly, though he did give it a try now and then. Mainly though I think he saw the potential for hate on the right, and was trying to avoid waking that up. Which meant he had to take it easy on things . But it didn't work.

The problem is people like you, looking the other way while the country is dragged down the greasy shithole by the alt-right, MAWA/Q-ANONS...just like the good little nazi german citizens in the 1930's.
They put Jesus on a cross
They put a hole in JFK
They put Hitler in the driver's seat
And looked the other way
