Does not mean you know what "everyone is doing". I know a lot of black rifle owners precision shooting and hunting. Your throwin out talking points.

I would be content having my Henry and six gun vs the "normal" shooter... but I have some decent training between Mil and LO.

Just another "talking points " conversation that achieves nothing.

Cheers

Rajoo, I hear what you are saying. A trophy or collectors item. I know there are many who collect guns and that reason comes closest to what I could accept as reasonable. I just can not reconcile that logic with what I feel. (With respect)

Until, and I do not see it happening anytime soon, laws are changed people will own them because they can. This applies to most of the people I know personally. Of course a few are wackdoodles waiting for the orange mans reresection but most are just sportsman that enjoy shooting, at least everyone I have been around my whole life.

I did offer to by the GF a pink Trump hat at a gun show Saturday, got a few looks with her "Eff Trump" fairly loudly.

I bought mine to compete in 3 gun. Rifle, Pistol and Shoot gun. I have also done this in "Cowboy Action" Rifle (lever action), single action revolver and pump shotgun.

For most its just a sport/hobby like any other, your probably into things I don't get.

GChief, I agree with your last seven words. If I had to take a wild guess, I would bet you have not crocheted many baby blankets.

I have crocheted

You may be surprised what hobbies sailors take up during deployments.

And you asked "why" so I gave my reason for buying one.

GChief, a surprise response. See what I get for making an assumption!

I wish I could export this thread. A discussion on a controversial topic, tho' not always agreeing yet still remaining civil and decidedly non-hostile. Carry on.

As do I, though those activities had been done for centuries before the black rifle and its body count came into play. IOW, it's a weapon that could be done without without damage to sportsmen. Hell, I hunt during modern firearms season with a muzzloader and leave my .270 at home.

Been a builder and user of Blackpowder weapons since the 70’s. Flintlock and percussion, single fire to repeaters. One can have a very pleasant day at the range and except for cleanup. Not as bad just more of a mess and time consuming.
Done right they are very fine firearms.

A .22 long or 9mm with a hi-capacity magazine also is a weapon that should be regulated. There are many being sold and in the wrong hands are effective at getting lead down range.

I pickup my AR not as a self defense weapon. I have a Browning auto shotgun for that. The AR is for shooting target with a life long friend. We bought them and customized accessorized to each’s liking. Got tired of Range Rambo’s thinking they had Lefties outgunned.

Would gladly turn it in when everyone else does.

Indeed. As a range safety officer at my club, the black gun enthusiasts are almost always the least competent shooters. They freak out when my Remington Model 7 get groups 5x smaller than their spray and pray penis substitute.

Speaking of which, the 28-year-old who killed three children and three adults at a Christian school in Nashville last week fired 152 rounds. That wouldn't be remotely possible with a Henry .357.
