Even if he is indicted in early 2023, he won't go to trial until mid 2024 anyway. He has plenty of other civil trials to keep him busy in the meantime (his NY State civil trial over all his tax shenanigans starts in Oct. 2023, for instance).

...and the grift goes on

'Newly surfaced evidence suggests Donald Trump stole copyrighted images to create his recently launched “digital trading card” NFT collection, RadarOnline.com has learned.'

"Former President Donald Trump's recently unleashed line of NFT 'digital trading cards' could potentially land him in legal hot water, as many seem to infringe on prior designs.

Trump launched the line earlier this week and while the images were mocked in parts of the left and right, they did sell out of the first 4,500 put up for sale.

However, members of the media and Twitter users have pointed out that some of them appear to be based on unlicensed, copyrighted photos.

The sudden development comes just days after the former president was accused of photoshopping stolen images from small-scale clothing brands from across the country to form the basis of his NFT venture.

According to Daily Mail, the majority of 4,500 digital trading cards already sold by Trump “appear to be based on unlicensed, copyrighted photos.”

Even more shocking are the allegations many images were taken straight from high-profile companies such as Men’s Warehouse, Amazon, and Walmart.

One NFT already sold by Trump, featuring the embattled businessman-turned-politician dressed as a fighter pilot, was allegedly taken straight from a Shutterstock image.

Another digital trading card, featuring Trump dressed as an astronaut, was allegedly taken directly from NASA."

No crime too petty, no grift too low for this farking carnival barker. Stolen valor. smh

The public investigatory power of the US people, instituted in the US Congress, has concluded the former president, Donald Trump, should be charged with felony crimes of insurrection against the United States, and other crimes. This is a grave moment in our history. We must hope for the successful prosecution of these crimes which, due to the high office of the perpetrator, represent the most serious betrayal ever of our country, placing our democratic government in the most hazardous peril.

It's my comment. But I hope I've captured the spirit of the moment.

Excellent writing DQ and why it caught my attention. I even went searching for the referral till I saw that today's was only a 'business meeting", the grand finale is tomorrow.

A perfect synopsis of the January 6th insurrection and thanks.
You have my vote for "Wordsmith of the Year" award on PC.

Mike de Pence does not want the JD department to charge Trump and here is why.
Quote:
"I hope the Justice Department understands the magnitude of the very idea of indicting a former president of the United States. I think that would be terribly divisive in the country at a time when the American people want to see us heal. At this time of year, we're all thinking about the most important things in our lives: our faith, our family. And my hope is, the Justice Department think very carefully before proceeding."
What a loser. From a short but humorous opinion piece.

Charlie Pierce is great. A wry curmudgeon of Irish heritage who has a way with words. He's a big Marquette basketball fan which I also was when my daughter went there. He loves New Orleans and rock & roll music, particularly The Who - All admirable traits.
