Love Wins The Day

'House passes landmark legislation to protect same-sex, interracial marriages'

"The House on Thursday passed landmark legislation that would enshrine marriage equality in federal law, granting protections to same-sex and interracial couples and clearing the way for President Biden’s signature.

“Today, Congress sends the Respect for Marriage Act to the president’s desk, a glorious triumph of love and freedom,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), quoting the gay rights activist Edith Windsor in comparing marriage to magic. “This legislation honors that magic, protecting it from bigoted extremism, defending the inviolability of the same-sex and interracial marriages.”" WP

Thank you Madame Speaker. You are the badass of the House.

The "loyal" opposition responds...

"Republicans who opposed the bill decried it Thursday as an affront to “biblical” definitions of marriage. Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.) warned without evidence that it could lead to the legality of “polygamy, bestiality, child marriage, or whatever!” in the future." WP

Gotta watch out for that "whatever" Ladies and gentlemen, these are the ramblings of today's GOP (GQP). Got to give the base something to rave about, however detached from reality. I'm surprised he didn't throw child trafficking and baby blood drinking in there too.

Having had a good time all over the world as a USN sailor, I am curious what the other would be

Talking

Not to split hairs, or maybe it is, but it's "the whatever" that we have to be worried about. Whatever that is.
