If the election were to have been during a time when control of the senate was not in doubt. Does anyone really think his polling would be over 30% if that!

Because the control of the senate is at hand.
That is why he is a threat of being elected.

I find it equally amazing and disturbing that the GOP has presented Walker as their best hope to win that Georgia Senate seat. I'm not surprised that he has the support of the Republican base that he has because it's not for him as much as it is against whomever the Democrat in their way is. I hope Walker doesn't win the election but if he does look for the party to go absolutely bat-shit crazy trying to dispute his loss.
