That is their aim. But along the way they abandoned the Democratic party and took over the Republicans.

Trump's Midterm Message - Lie or Lose

During a phone call between Trump and Masters captured in a Fox documentary at some point after the debate, the former President can be heard encouraging Masters to lean into his unfounded election fraud claims.
“If you want to get across the line, you’ve got to go stronger on that one thing. That was the one thing, a lot of complaints about it,” Trump told Masters before pointing to Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake as an example.
“Look at Kari. Kari’s winning with very little money. And if they say, ‘How is your family?’ she says the election was rigged and stolen. You’ll lose if you go soft. You’re going to lose that base,” Trump said.

While Hillz got a majority of votes, the system in place gives the choice to locally appointed representatives by law, fair or not.
As for Abrams, Kemp should have recused himself from his official duties as overseer of the electoral process in which he was running to avoid the appearance of conflict of interest, and this mess, which he did not do.
GA by nature and appearance, is still a white supremacy entity by any means necessary, including changing voter protocols to favor their interests and useful idiot "Jewish Nazi" collaborator assets like Herschel Walker.
I live down here, I see the Confederate rebel regalia and MAGA Trump trash in front of homes and businesses, often together, and can plainly read the signals they send. It's not innacurate to refer to the concurrent local pol sineage folk as "klandidates".

Trump, OTOH, never had a reason to believe he won and recent sworn testimony demonstrates he (and everyone around him) knew he lost and had planned his antics well before the election. The testimony revealed that he told DOJ officials to simply (and falsely) announce election fraud and he and his Republican Congressional friends would "do the rest." He also said to a White House staffer not to admit he lost because "it was too embarrassing." Knowing that he lost, he planned an autocoup and incited a riot to pressure Congress to install him as President.
In short, under scrutiny your comparison falls apart completely and is a BS post-facto rationalization of Trump's outrageous and criminal behavior.

The usual feeble whataboutism is all Whell has.
So HRC bitched and moaned about losing, threw a few loose accusations that she perhaps should not have had. But the 2016 election was suspect, why else was Mueller appointed as Special Prosecutor?
As for Abrams, I do not know the details, but do remember that Kemp as Secy. of State chucked several thousand voters off the rolls while campaigning for Governor, not a very good sign. Could have gone about this a different way.
But neither Hillary nor Abrams plotted a coup or mounted an insurrection.
To me election is a game, a dangerous game which involves people, egos and money, big money and in some countries a lot of people get killed for their political activism. Neither Hilary nor Abrams caused any of this, Trump did. EOS.

Everyone knew Trump's comment was trolling Hillary and the Dems...except of course the left who has no sense of humor about that type of thing. . Hillary, in the meantime, was peddling a BS "dossier" that featured Trump allegedly watching Russian prostitutes pee on a bed. She knew it was false, but I guess all's fair in love and politics...but only if you're a Democrat.
Abrams: she unreasonably believed the vote was being suppressed, and is still talking about it, even in the face of record voter turnout. She played the race card and she still lost, even though a year later she still claimed "we won".

Dipshit Donny goes off the rails with bizarre and 'endlessly debunkable' claim about the 2020 presidential election

THIS is what our village idiot seems to think is “normal” behavior. Disgusting. Such a fool.
