You know if asking someone in Italy Germany Japan a few years back. They would generally say, I'm not a Fascist!
Yet were!
Was it due to the wanting, of getting along with in the current climate?
Most not wanting to be the nail needing to be put down.
Still there were plenty who drummed up the fury went along because it benefited them.
Today I see it as a way for many not to see, overlook the tough decisions ahead. Taking a fairy tale, easy way to accept reality. Lazy and selfish, just my views. So they look to the dream weavers to zone them out into the zombie mode.

I agree with this. There are a great many incentives for illegal immigrants to make the trip, both "push" and "pull". Lets get rid of the "pull" reasons that we can control.

And yet, the Dem "sanctuary cities" mayors howled like stuck pigs when the illegal immigrants started showing up on their doorstep. The sick joke is that the border states have born the economic and human impact for the open border for years and years. So, when you state that Repubs don't care about immigration reform, you're clueless.
As for W's attempt at "reform", amnesty without implementing additional border security/controls isn't reform. W's was a political and tactical approach, not a practical one. That's why it failed to garner support.

I live in one of those border states and we aren't pissing and moaning about it.

One again with the Republican lies about an "open border".
If the Repubs truly cared about immigration reform why didn't they do something about it when they controlled both houses of congress? I throw that question out for anyone.

Very well stated. How else can construction, hospitality, fast food, golf courses (landscaping) function? These are the ones that come to mind that I am most familiar with and there are many more.
I have heard that in the Bay Area if one cannot speak Spanish, they are a liability to a fast food establishment (kitchen staff).
As for the Moron's big beautiful wall, even the GOP congress would not fund it.

Democratic cities have long since had the highest percentage of migrants among their residents. In fact, 36% of NYC residents are foreign born. The Democratic county in which I live has 4 of the 10 most diverse cities in the nation and people are cool with it (32% are foreign born), indeed proud of it. It is in the Top 20 in the nation in terms of per capita wealth, its public school system is rated in the top 5% in the country, highly educated (>60% with bachelors degree and >30% with graduate degrees) and very low unemployment. OTOH, states with the lowest foreign-born percentage of residents (West Virginia and Mississippi) are poorly-educated, economic basket cases.

The issue is the Governors of Texas and Florida using legal asylum seekers as pawns in their cruel (and possibly illegal) performative antics.

A rare moment of public self-criticism by a former president

No, not Donny. Our last REAL president, admitting he maybe should have handled an issue differently.
TFG admitting he was a massive screwup is about as likely as our village idiot admitting he's utterly wrong about just about everything, lol.

Yeah, I have the guys at work try and explain to me how some of the things they say are not. At their core they are all good guys and just parroting talking points. I find from digging deep with them that they seem to still be deeply entrenched in our whitewashed history.
Of course, I am "Woke" lol... But hey if understanding how White European Colonialism eff'ed over most of the world is being "Woke" then I guess I am good with the label.
