They were not potentially classified. They were classified. Moreover, they were also found outside the padlocked room. And lastly, his lawyers signed a statement that said there were none (a crime that alone can get you 20 years).

As for Hillary, she was not suspected of violating 18 USC 793(e). Trump is. And 793(e) isn't about "mishandling" national defense information, it's about "willfully" retaining it and refusing to give it up ( as Trump did).

Having had a TS/SCI clearance for -20 years, I can assure you that I would have been buried under the prison for doing what Trump did. The way that GOP politicians talk so cavalierly about stealing documents of this classification level and then obstructing their retrieval should result in them having their clearances revoked (to the extent they even have them).

I had a Cosmic Top Secret clearance when I worked for NATO. I dealt with highly sensitive documents every day. Had I mishandled any of those, or exposed just one of them to the possibility of anyone unauthorized gaining access to them, I knew full well that I'd be placed behind bars. Take them home!? The J6 hearings have less political theater character than any I can remember - no long speeches pretending to be questions, no screaming, no posing, no disingenuous gotcha questions, and no reluctant dissembling witnesses. It would have been political theater if Gym Jordan or other Trump sycophants were on it, shrieking like banshees, but alas they're not. It is probably the best-managed and best-presented hearing in the modern era (and I have prepared testimony and attended quite a few Congressional oversight and budget hearings for DOD, DOL and DOE).

The media was not tipped off. A local reporter first reported in the early afternoon that something was apparently going on at MAL but had no details or live footage, but it wasn't confirmed until Trump himself sent out notification on Truth Social later than evening. Where do you come up with such lies?
