When you're willing to cheat to win elections you're willing to accept "help" from wherever you can.

Imagine, if you will, a Republican party that actually had something to offer Americans across the board so they wouldn't have to resort to trickery to win elections.

An unintended (perhaps not) consequence to this is that the blue states will get richer and red states will get poorer. And despite the red states becoming more and more authoritarian, the large cities will remain vibrantly blue.
Atlanta (Fulton County), 72% Dem
Dallas 65%
Houston 55%
SLC 53%
Phoenix Reno lean towards Dem

Eventually there will be mass migration of jobs and sane people while the red states will be filled with MAGA morons. Would love to see what happens in Indiana.

You just need to look at the Deep South to see what will happen - extreme poverty, low education, voting Red, against their own self-interest.

Absolutely. That's where we had one party rule due to voter suppression before. It was called 'The Solid South.'

A Republican group in Alabama is apologizing after accidentally using a picture of the GOP elephant that contained Ku Klux Klan imagery. LOL.

How the hard-right turn in the Arizona GOP is an anti-democracy experiment

https://www.npr.org/2022/08/18/11171...acy-experiment

""And, you know, what I came to realize in going to a lot of their campaign events and listening to people talk about them and listen to the questions that were being asked is that they feel that ever since the 2020 election, in their view, was stolen from them - again, a view that is not supported by any evidence - that democracy essentially has been weaponized against so-called regular Americans and that democracy is now an evil thing. And so the rhetoric that I heard Kari Lake, for example, employ about godlessness, the godless left and how we need God, guns and glory is really reflective of a different era, specifically the 1950s and during the so-called Red Scare, featuring Wisconsin U.S. Senator Joe McCarthy, whose name I actually heard invoked not once but twice at one event in Prescott, Ariz., where one of the speakers, an Oath Keeper and a grassroots activist, said that Joe McCarthy not only had it right, he understated the matter. And another individual said to me that she wished that Joe McCarthy were president today.""

Gov. Hogan - R Maryland governor calls the GQP candidate Dan Cox, mentally unstable. Cox is a full on Q-Anon devotee.

A Texas school district bans the Bible and of course they are all Hellbound, but not on a train.

Quote:
Students at the Keller Independent School District outside Fort Worth, Texas, went back to school Wednesday. But instead of the focus being on their return, much of the attention has been heaped on an email that was sent out the day before, instructing school staff to pull all copies of a list of more than 40 books from classrooms and school libraries.

The books that were pulled include the graphic novel adaptation of Anne Frank's diary, all versions of the Bible and numerous books with LGBTQ+ themes or characters. The School Board did not say why the Bible and the Anne Frank book were removed, but parents had objected to them, according to the list.
They have a song, but not a prayer.

As our Bob says, only in Tejas.

*That album is one of my all time favorites*
