Pretty much the same here in this one-party state.
My view of Hillz vs the Mag-a-Lardo troll in 2016 was a matter of trustworthiness with the office, similar to who should you have watching your house and feeding your dog if you have to be away for a week.
With Hillz in charge, no worries.
With the troll, he'd have his lawyers assume the title, sell it, pocket the proceeds, burn it down, pocket the insurance payout, and look you in the eye and tell you he has no idea what happened. And the dog? If you are lucky, it's still alive at the pound.
It was an easy choice for me.

A pattern for very few people. The impact of these things is out of all proportion to their actual prevalence. Hundreds of people out of hundreds of millions are doing this.

Let me expand. This is unscientific, but I am believe that the regularity of such events over time, for some projects shooting innocents as a response to whatever troubles the mind.

It has now become one of the go to 'solutions'.

Having the benefit of life's experience going on seventy years. Knowing another time of when there was discord and war. See more then a few similarities in today.

With availability, ease of access to these military style weapons. The gun industry fueling sales by use of fear through scare tactics. Dividing the country into one side or the other. See a self fulfilling prophecy of a civil war.

Will getting "assault weapons" regulated fix this? Doubt it will be enough alone. The root of the evil is the gun industry. They need to be held accountable and regulated. All of those who are liable for the damages wrought on our society. Must be held personally and financially responsible. The loss of their money and prison is the only real effective tools against them it now seems.
