First off, the peaceful protesters were gathered in a park across the street from 1600 Pennsylvania where people have gathered to protest for decades. That's the closest they came to "approaching" your Ill Douche T'Rumpolini.

Then they were attacked by fat boy's bullies and chased from the people's park in a hail of tear gas and rubber bullets. All so el Lardo could parade around with an upside down bible clutched in his short fat fingers.

I have little illusions about what would now be remembered about the 6th. If a group of anti cult protesters had shown up and taunted them. Just a little enough for their master to call out the "crowd control forces". Then enforce martial law, fait accompli!

Trump used the DC National Guard to assist Federal Police in pushing back the protestors. He tried to use the US military, but they refused.

There was no 'pushing back' of protesters. The protesters were peacefully protesting within a fenced in park when they were attacked by the one term loser's bully boys firing pepperballs, teargas and rubber bullets. I watched it in realtime. As I recall the slumlord president had his joint chief dressed up in camo along for the waddle to the church for his photo op once they cleared the park.
