Most of the stuff that's peddled to MAGA morons is so patently ridiculous there's no excuse for believing it, certainly not without vetting it.

Reality TV gave him name recognition beyond the boroughs and he built a persona of being a savvy business person, but what did the trick for him is social media, specifically FB and TWTR. Even his party affiliation was unknown until then.
