Where we grift one, we grift all

MTG ally Rep. Lauren Boebert hit with major ethics scandal less than one month into office To rack up that kind of mileage you would have needed to average over 175 a day each and every day for seven months.

A QAnon believer herself, she has also been accused of giving a “tour” to a large group of people in a tunnel connected to the Capitol before Trump’s insurrection, raising the possibility that she directly aided the efforts to capture and perhaps even kill her fellow members of Congress.
The Republican party was already headed this way #DiaperDon just lit the afterburners.

Liz Cheney Says GOP Shouldn’t Be ‘Embracing’ Trump: ‘Does Not Have a Role as the Leader of Our Party Going Forward’

https://www.mediaite.com/tv/liz-chen...going-forward/

One of the few Repubes in Congress with balls. Sad.

Quote:
Cheney said, “We really have to take a hard look at who we are and what we stand for, what we believe in.”

She again blasted the former president[*]’s actions leading up to January 6th, and, combined with the fact he lost the presidency and Republicans lost the Senate, she added, “Somebody who has provoked an attack on the United States Capitol to prevent the counting of electoral votes, which resulted in five people dying, who refused to stand up immediately when he was asked to stop the violence, that is a person who does not have a role as the leader of our party going forward.”

“We should not be embracing the former president[*].”

As long as some Republican pol thinks #DiaperDon can bring the votes they'll be supporting him and he'll be acting like he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

The Republican Party Is Radicalizing Against Democracy
The GOP is moderating on policy questions, even as it grows more dangerous on core questions of democracy and the rule of law.

I still don't understand why Republicans put up with the things like Q-loons and Trumpists.

Oh, wait: it's the only way they can win elections.

A piece with a lot of insights.

Mr. Hayes on the road to vigilance against despots left some gems.
A reasonable and fair look at some of the basic political forces at play in the US.

One should read this with a third eye.

Not all GOP members on the last point, but some. Like the Gomerts of the party.

I will try to refrain from the term Tea Party, because it is becoming euphemistic in that extreme negative traits that have been traditionally ascribed to those crazies are now becoming the planks of the actual GOP.

maybe I will not be as good as Pete and his threads, and I promise not to steal too much from the Huffington Post
Huffington Post is nothing more than a left wing opinion rag. It has zero credibility.

If you want to paint a true picture of the national GOP, just draw a picture of a circular firing squad.

Considering the OP announced limited reliance of the Huff Post, attacking the Post is sort of straw-manish.

My favorite metaphor of the GOP now is Mitch McConnell riding a tiger with the face of Donald Trump.
