WASHINGTON (AP) — Three days before supporters of President Donald Trump rioted at the Capitol, the Pentagon asked the U.S Capitol Police if it needed National Guard manpower. And as the mob descended on the building Wednesday, Justice Department leaders reached out to offer up FBI agents. The police turned them down both times, according to senior defense officials and two people familiar with the matter.

Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund was planning to resign, as was the House sergeant-at-arms, the chief security officer for the House of Representatives. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., the incoming majority leader, said he will fire the Senate sergeant-at-arms.

“There was a failure of leadership at the top,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said.

Apparently Capitol Police chief Sund was the only one not concerned about possible violence from the Trumpkin mob. Something about this guy stinks.

"I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump – I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad," Trump said.

The first ones he mentioned for support were the police.

He, tRump, has spent the majority of his term playing up to law enforcement.
