I would say the number is about right. It would be just a little below 1/3 of all Americans and put it at most voters. I agree with that figure. I have a new co-worker who 'subscribes' to a world view that is nearly identical to yours. A 'church person' who thinks Trump would be justified in appointing himself as dictator.

He's the only person I have spoken to that expresses this view point. He's actually a decent fellow. All I could say is "no way we want martial law".

Then driving home from work tonight I met every Sherriff's Deputy in the county flying down the highway with lights and sirens going. That was a 'shots fired all-call'. Very rare around here.

When I got home, by coincidence, there was a CH-47 (double-rotor helicopter) flying over my neighborhood. That's not rare, but it gave me the willies. Can't wait for February to get here.
