Simply not true. Atheism is not a belief, but rather an UNDERSTANDING that since there is no objective reality-based evidence for a “God”, then the logical conclusion is that there is no such entity.

I am so glad that the orderlies allow you to use the computer for a few hours each day.

Off the track a bit.

Watched a show last night about England in the middle ages. At the time when Christianity was taking hold. Seems thief was punished with death, a gruesome one at that. Murder was normally just a fine. Trials were by a test of some sort. Like placing the hand into boiling water. Then waiting to see if it got infected. If so guilty!

Kinda makes one wounder about the whole religion and beliefs. The evolution over the ages in what is considered to be God's intent. Or man's interpretation of.

If you can find an old Vincent Price movie called “Conqueror Worm”, it’s a really good story about this very thing. I think maybe it was based on a story by Poe. And the name of the movie may have been changed over the years. But I think you would really enjoy it. Vincent Price goes around testing people for being witches. He puts them under water. If they drown, it proves that they are not a witch and their reputation is restored and their family can live in peace. If they don’t drown, it proves that they are a witch and they are burned at the stake. Man’s inhumanity to man.

Truth is, your understanding is a belief/opinion.

Agree. Reasoning allow one to inductively conclude that God does not exist, but it does not prove the negative.

There is a big limit to all of this with regards to our mind.

It is like a person who is blind from birth inability to perceive the color red.

It’s not really about reasoning or proof so much as it is about evidence. Since there is no objective reality-based evidence for a “God”, then the logical conclusion is that no such entity exists. Same as with wood fairies. Bigfoot, and Santa Claus.
