Well, it's not face-to-face, but I am indeed a committed atheist/Humanist.
BTW, I don't wear my atheism on my sleeve (my Humanism perhaps, and so I only discuss it with those who seem to have some mental acumen and a deep commitment to their "faith". I'm not out to "win converts", but only to offer alternatives. Although I do mention Humanism more often than atheism because that is what I consider myself.
I have lived next door to a minister for 15 years or so and we have never discussed it. He probably suspects it because he picked up my mail when I was on vacation and it had a letter from the American Humanist Association. Then again, a great many religionists don't even know what Humanism is, not to mention the general public.
No, I am not an agnostic. I'm not a fence-sitter. There is no actual objective evidence for the existence of an entity called "God", any more than there is for wood fairies or bigfoot, and thus I don't "believe" in any of them.
Yeah. I've met a lot of folks on the internet that say they are atheist, but when we meet face to face (and occasionally we do) and discuss it, they ALWAYS turn out to be agnostic. In fact, I came across a few that even on the internet tried to claim that atheist and agnostic are really the same thing. They are literally trying to change the meaning of the word, "atheist".

You are really asking a rhetorical question, to which you are absolutely certain that you have the answer. To me, it is a made-up question to support your already-read narrative. The only way that I can answer it is that there is simply NO "why". I already said that. We are here because we are born, and so our goal is to become the best person that we can. And then pass away and leave the world to others.
I don't believe anyone is certain they have the answer. This is why the bible says that now we see as through a glass, darkly, but then we will see face to face.

I see the bible as trying to explain the color red to a race of beings that only see in black and white. It's amazing that ANY of it sinks in regarding the after life and why we are created. It makes no sense. And that is one of its proofs. No man would have invented it. What keeps it strong and expanding is that it is quite real in people's lives. My wife and I have two healing miracles, hearing God's voice and another.

And we are not alone. Not by a long shot. And that's the rub. If it was ONLY belief, it would be blind faith. Christianity is not about blind faith. It's about faith, followed by faith in action, followed by results.

I see that your debate technique is repetition. You have said nothing new above that is different from your original input, to which I then made an in-depth reply.
So I'll use your technique. I'll simply repeat: No, I am not a fence-sitter. I am an atheist. There is not an iota of real and objective evidence for your "God" and so I have made the only logical conclusion: that your god is no more real than are wood fairies or unicorns or Santa Claus.
In fact, that is basically what "God" is: Santa Claus for adults. "He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows when you've been good or bad, so be good for goodness sake".
Humanism has the answers.

" There is one thing Smith and Muhammad have in common. They wrote an entire book on their own and claim it was handed down somehow to them alone from God."

It doesn't make any difference how many people wrote "the book". The Bible was still written by HUMANS, just like the Koran and the Book of Mormons, and those writings were then compiled and sorted by HUMANS, making certain that they left out those writings that did not conform to their preconceived narrative. And thus the "Apocrypha". Who says that they should not be in the Bible proper? HUMANS!

Created the world in His image; it's a holograph we can touch.

What the Father looks like can't even be conceived from our vantage point.

"And to that end, there is an old Christian joke: When you get to heaven you will be surprised by three things:

1. There are people there you didn't expect to be there.
2. There are people missing that you expected to see there.
3. You're there."

And the worst thing about hell will be all those goddam right-wingers hanging around and still telling lies, along with their great leader Trump.

Smith was a con man.

The Prophet Muhammad was a peasant who was given the ability to write by a rebel angel.

The angel dictated the Qua'ran.

Just my opinion.

In your case, on Judgement Day, I'd recommend you get Him laughing.

Ask Him if his middle name starts with an F, or an H ?

No need to. If the original point stands, I simply restate it.

FYI, I am not at all concerned about a "judgement day". If there is indeed your "God", as you state, he will note that I have lived an ethical life and have used the intelligence that "he gave me" to make well-supported decision, and he will welcome me with open arms and tell me that he, too, considers all that "grace" stuff to be just so much blather.
