Yes, his theories about say black holes or wormholes are demonstrable

Actually, there is scientific evidence that supports black holes. As for Noah's Ark, loaves and fishes, etc., I'm not so sure.

Black holes almost certainly exist, it doesn't mean his theories about them are correct!

They do, we've seen them. Or the effects of them, rather. They show up as smeared or distorted images when viewing background objects in deep space.
It's believed these distortions are caused by "gravitational lensing", gravitational fields so powerful that they bend light---a Black Hole.

Just wondering aloud, Pete. Who do you think is more capable of making a reasoned, intelligent argument on the subject of God's existence, Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow, or Ray Comfort and his banana buddy? I'm not necessarily talking about the ultimate validity of the argument (as the "truth" in likely unknowable), but the capacity of the respective parties to make reasoned arguments. Again, you pick.

Hey Pete,
since this discusion has turned somewhat philisophical, lets go all out in this direction.
What do we really know? Us as people, what do we really know.
My answer, nothing!
Sure, we can postulate about things, we can show some properties in science taht seem to be repeatable, but we can't prove a thing. Heck, most of us can't even tell you why we feel a ceratin way or why we do some things.
I guess I catagorize people into a couple of groups. The scietnific postulaters, the philosophical theoriziers, and the faithful believers.
Excluding the wako nut jobs in all of these groups, we are all trying to find the truth. Some of just like to have something to base it on.

We agree!
We split an atom. Big deal - we still haven't harnessed the power of Sol.
And we landed on the moon! Big deal, a spacefaring race would laugh. Ditto for our pathetic health care.
Blue you may be surprised that I'm a big sci fan. I grew up with my dad trying to explain the articles in Fusion magazine to me, and I've read just about the entire old scifi catalog as well Love that stuff, most of it.
Lol I just googled Fusion magazine - rotflmao!! The one I was referring to was published by none other than LaRouche, but was strictly scientific.
They (the scientific community, not necessarily the LaRouche-ites ) currently believe every galaxy has a monsterous black hole at its' center. They have empirical evidence, suns coming too close are spinning around them at fantastic rates as they are sucked in.
If folks knew the fantastic forces that surround us (and are under our feet), and what an amazing balancing act life on earth is, they'd be...
I don't know
Pete

I just love the media.
The title of the article I just read said
"God did not create the universe, says Hawking"
Hawkings quote is as follows.
"It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going."
Some people may say these are the same. I see a huge gap between the two.
Just sayin, I love the media. Good thing we have them.
