Autopsy results show first now-known Corona virus death in California was Feb 6. Jan 26 was not super early warning....

Trump, and Trump's ethically-challenged pick who is running the CDC, are the fuck-ups who gave us a wasted February and still too few tests.

Looks like there are problems with these two west coast studies that downplay the severity of Covid-19. Stanford has some 'splainin' to do.

Internal Documents Reveal Team Trump’s Chloroquine Master Plan
Forget testing, ventilators, and PPE. Donald Trump’s big plan to beat COVID-19 involved distributing millions of doses of an unproven drug. Behind the scenes, senior administration officials pushed hard to bend the rules and back up his boasts.

That evening, according to emails obtained by Vanity Fair, Trump’s political appointees would ramp up the pressure on career health officials to make good on the president’s extravagant promises, despite clear warnings from federal clinicians about the risks and unproven benefits of chloroquine-based treatments for COVID-19.

Donny just mused about whether disinfectant injections could treat coronavirus. Really.

Oh, great idea, Donny! Maybe we should all be eating Tide pods!

Waiting for Fucker Carlson and his idiot compadres to cheer this “idea” on...

On second thought, maybe this is a great idea! All you Trumpkins, go ingest a gallon or so of bleach! Your man Donny is brilliant!

I will make this much distinction between Hannity and Carlson. Hannity will cheer it on, Carlson won't. This is because they service different audience segments. Hannity pours the kool-aid for the zombies, while Tucker panders to those Fox viewers who still have a few working neurons.

My first question on hearing of the cleaner injection idea was "Why does the entire White House staff not run screaming from the building?" I imagine the ghastly enormity of the thing must have hit one or two of them, finally, but whatever they did has been hushed up

Not so sure. Naturally, I don't watch anything on Fox "News". Here's Fucker:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...xychloroquine/

Quote:
Fox News host Tucker Carlson found another scandal on CNN. Several of the network’s people, including Wolf Blitzer, Jim Acosta and Brian Stelter, had issued words of caution to contextualize President Trump’s hype of hydroxychloroquine, an antimalarial drug touted by some folks as a treatment for covid-19. To showcase CNN’s message on the drug, Carlson on April 7 ran a series of clips from the network’s air, including this from Acosta: “Despite only having a background as a businessman, President Trump is offering free medical advice, urging Americans to load up on an unproven drug used for malaria patients.”

After sampling CNN’s skepticism, Carlson sneered: “Watching people in the media talk down a potentially lifesaving medicine because a politician they don’t like has endorsed it is probably the most shameful thing I, as someone who has done this for 20 years, I’ve ever seen. [It] is making a lot of us ashamed to work in the same profession as those people.”
Hmmmm.... Meanwhile, the "deep state" folks at the FDA had to issue a warning against these meds today. Sad that they have to issue warnings against claims from Donny and Faux. The lawsuits will be fun to watch.

I certainly did not mean to suggest that Carlson doesn't wax ripe with the best of them. He is a populist propagandist, with all the trafficking in hype, deceit, and emotional appeals that implies. But part of his shtick is to establish credibility with what passes for critical thinkers in the Fox audience by sometimes taking 'independent, rational' positions.
