If he refuses the interview, Mueller also could subpoena him to testify before a grand jury.

The big question is will Mueller subpoena Trump? That could freak out Trump's lawyers or begin a constitutional argument.

I think that what will probably happen is that Trump lawyers will negotiate to have the questions and answers in writing. Then the lawyers can answer those questions in a way that will not incriminate Trump.

What I am hoping happens is that Trump does not listen to his lawyers and he goes to be interviewed by Mueller and his team face to face.
