And much later than that. As a kid in Mannheim in the early 1960's, my landlord and his wife were still outspoken fans of Hitler. I also ran into some crusty old coots during the '78-'86 time frame while drinking in the beer halls of Munich and country guesthouses near Fulda who were still outspoken Hitler fans.
