‘There’s a Smell of Treason in the Air’ by Kristof

"The greatest political scandal in American history was not Aaron Burr’s shooting of Alexander Hamilton, and perhaps wasn’t even Watergate. Rather it may have been Richard Nixon’s secret efforts in 1968 to sabotage a U.S. diplomatic effort to end the Vietnam War.
Nixon’s initiative, long rumored but confirmed only a few months ago, was meant to improve his election chances that year. After Nixon won, the war dragged on and cost thousands of additional American and Vietnamese lives; it’s hard to see his behavior as anything but treason.
Now the F.B.I. confirms that we have had an investigation underway for eight months into whether another presidential campaign colluded with a foreign power so as to win an election. To me, that, too, would amount to treason." NY Times

Nunes now wants a hearig with Comey and Adm. Rogers behind closed doors, so the asshattery continues.
Unfortunately this may be lost in the din of today's TRyancare vote. Streisand effect at play here.

You better hope that he doesn't just partially walk this back. You better hope that he walks all of it back. The alternative is potentially ugly for the members of the previous administration.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Obama & Co. did indeed leave behind "bread crumbs" as reported a month or two back by the NYTimes. They had enough evidence of possible shady dealings between Trump's minions and Russia and were rightfully fearful that Trump would bury the evidence. If true, Obama did the nation a great service.

It seems that Breitbart and InfoWars are in the FBI sights for cooperating with the Russians.

WASHINGTON - Federal investigators are examining whether far-right news sites played any role last year in a Russian cyber operation that dramatically widened the reach of news stories — some fictional — that favored Donald Trump’s presidential bid, two people familiar with the inquiry say.

Operatives for Russia appear to have strategically timed the computer commands, known as “bots,” to blitz social media with links to the pro-Trump stories at times when the billionaire businessman was on the defensive in his race against Democrat Hillary Clinton, these sources said.

Lock them up! Lock them up!

Assuming they are found guilty in a fair trial, of course.

What would they be charged with?
