Meanwhile, Sean Spicer (Trump's own Baghdad Bob) threw Manafort under the bus, claiming that Manafort had very little to do with the campaign, despite the fact he was Campaign Chairman for months.

Keep in mind that Comey was forced to come to Capitol Hill and testify in public by Lindsey Graham (and others) after Trump lied about Obama wiretapping Trump. Had it not been for Trump's silly, dishonest tweet storm, Comey would not have come to the Hill and revealed that Trump and his staff are under investigation for colluding with Russia. Trump brought yesterday's dark cloud down upon himself.

Yes, he did bring the "dark cloud" yesterday. Trump - via the Justice Dept - would have had to authorize Comey to speak yesterday about any on-going investigations.

And no, there are no shoes to drop on the salient issue - did anyone on Trump's team collude with Russia to influence the 2016 election. Your Wapo link has NOTHING to do with that question.

John McCain thinks otherwise - "There's a lot of aspects of this whole relationship with Russia and Vladimir Putin that requires further scrutiny, and so far I don't think the American people have gotten all the answers. In fact, I think there's a lot more shoes to drop from this centipede."

No he did that way before yesterday and it will hopefully lift in time.
As to unleashing Comey, what other choice does Trump have? Sessions already has discredited himself, Comey meddled in the 2016 elections by speaking about an investigation he should not have for which Trump heaped praises on him and gave him a promotion.

And as long as the house members supporting Trump keep the deflections going, this will not die. The Fake News Media will exact it's revenge, I will bet on it.
