The CNN coverage on this topic makes me smile.
I am more and more confident that the T nightmare will actually not last four years...

You're correct, just 46 months left.

I dunno, I kind of think that if he is deemed a liability for the 2018 elections, he will get the short straw and be booted. IF Trump could turn his tweet finger off, sit back and be a good boy, the current situation might blow over. But if he keeps it up, the collective sum of his loud mouth tweets will do him in.

There really needs to be a bipartisan and independent investigation of all this. Watching Trump's pet congresscritters try to deflect to leaks and leakers shows that Nunez and his merry band of whitewashers have no intention of getting to the bottom of this.

So even the most servile DJ disciples do not reckon with a second term?

There's no bottom to get to, and Dems know it.
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/...lusion-n734176
Former Acting CIA Director Michael Morell, who endorsed Hillary Clinton and called Donald Trump a dupe of Russia, cast doubt Wednesday night on allegations that members of the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.
Morell, who was in line to become CIA director if Clinton won, said he had seen no evidence that Trump associates cooperated with Russians. He also raised questions about the dossier written by a former British intelligence officer, which alleged a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Morell said he had learned that the former officer, Christopher Steele, paid his key Russian sources, and interviewed them through intermediaries.
On the question of the Trump campaign conspiring with the Russians here, there is smoke, but there is no fire, at all," Morell said at an event sponsored by the Cipher Brief, an intelligence web site.
"There's no little campfire, there's no little candle, there's no spark. And there's a lot of people looking for it."
Also, Clapper has said there's no evidence:
Morell pointed out that former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said on Meet the Press on March 5 that he had seen no evidence of a conspiracy when he left office January 20.
"That's a pretty strong statement by General Clapper," Morell said.
But you guys keep right on thinking that there is, since it must help you sleep better at night.

Even Dems on the Senate Intel committee are apparently saying that there's nothing to this:
https://www.buzzfeed.com/alimwatkins...Po5#.yfY2866KD
Even some Democrats on the Intelligence Committee now quietly admit, after several briefings and preliminary inquiries, they don’t expect to find evidence of active, informed collusion between the Trump campaign and known Russian intelligence operatives, though investigators have only just begun reviewing raw intelligence. Among the Intelligence Committee’s rank and file, there’s a tangible frustration over what one official called “wildly inflated” expectations surrounding the panel’s fledgling investigation.

There are a lot of shoes left to drop:
KIEV, Ukraine — A Ukrainian lawmaker on Tuesday released new financial documents allegedly showing that a former campaign chairman to President Trump laundered payments from the party of a disgraced ex-leader of Ukraine using offshore accounts in Belize and Kyrgyzstan.
The new documents may revive questions about the ties between the Trump aide, Paul Manafort, and the party of the former president of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, who has been in hiding in Russia since being overthrown by pro-Western protestors in 2014. He is wanted in Ukraine on corruption charges.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world...120_story.html
Meanwhile, Sean Spicer (Trump's own Baghdad Bob) threw Manafort under the bus, claiming that Manafort had very little to do with the campaign, despite the fact he was Campaign Chairman for months.
Keep in mind that Comey was forced to come to Capitol Hill and testify in public by Lindsey Graham (and others) after Trump lied about Obama wiretapping Trump. Had it not been for Trump's silly, dishonest tweet storm, Comey would not have come to the Hill and revealed that Trump and his staff are under investigation for colluding with Russia. Trump brought yesterday's dark cloud down upon himself.
